This has been a talking point for family and friends. They love how well done the magnetic chess set looks, and are surprised by the level of detail. After zooming into the picture, they couldn't believe it was a functional chess set. Just be careful with the board since it is not glued to the stem, or the central leg. Other than that, it's not warped, the pieces are complete (no extra Queen, lol), and it's magnetic. You may add a stronger magnet, but I think you're thinking of using this more than just for decorative purposes. I'm chess coach and fan, this would be a lovely gift for someone who is the same, and although it's meant for a doll house, the thought it's what matters. Practice your openings.

This 1:12 size dollhouse chess set it wonderful. It's completely made put of heavy metal and the peices are magnetized so they won't fall off the board. It is a great price for a really great peice.

Nice weight, attractive, and well-made. I almost bought a less expensive version, but having the magnet is worth it. The little chess pieces would be all over the place without being magnetized to the board. It makes a stunning addition to my Dark Academic room miniatures vignette.
