Saved our trash from the bears!
I have one lock in the front of each can. Worked great and mama bear was so mad, she picked up the trash can and threw it onto the neighbor’s side of their house! All was well though. She has been coming to our home getting our trash and even opened them with bungee cords. This worked great though!! Thank you thank you!!

One year update
We ordered two straps and placed them on the front of our van, the first year worked great - never had to pick up garbage. The bears this season in year two....figured out they can apply pressure to the can they can make an opening to get the garbage from the side. We'll be ordering two more straps for the side!Even though the bears found a way eventually it saved me alot of cleaned 5/5 stars

No more bears!
These straps don’t allow the wildlife in if you must keep your trash outside these will do the job.

Simple and sturdy
Easy to install and use. Replaced lock that came with it with a carabineer for simplicity. It's easy to release to add trash to the can, and it's very secure. The racoons have gone hungry.

Try a different trash can bear!!!
Bear left frustrated. Garbage pickup vendor hates them but they work. And again this morning. Trash haulers should offer this

Best purchase I've ever made
I bought these cables because we have an issue with bears getting into our garbage. I was cleaning up my trash at least once a month due to our neighborhood fur coat razor blades. In all honesty these were such a simple design that I could have made them myself, but decided to buy instead. TLDR - These things have paid for themselves 10 times over.Install - Installation was easy. I opted to install both over the front. Needed to drill 8 small holes in the can which was no big deal. Installed them as tight as I could so the lid didn't move once latched.Sturdiness - Since installing them I have found my can knocked over several times with an attempt to open it. It never budged an inch, and since bears are lazy they gave up without doing any damage to the can. In one instance, I was backing out of my driveway and noticed the can was GONE. I looked all over for it and couldn't find it. I decided to leave and look more when I got home. As I was driving down my street I found my can two houses down in my neighbors driveway. So the one bear that had ambition still wasn't able to get into it. The only damage from that was the metal eyelets were bent from being dragged. Easily bent them back.CONS - None really. I just have to remember to unlatch them the morning of trash day so my garbage guy doesn't get upset.

Worth IT!!!
Y’all we have bears where we live and we’re told right away we needed a bear proof trash can and could contact the county for one. WELL .... the county said they have a program for some at a fraction of the $300 cost (for a trash can, REALLY!!) and that it would cost us $60. So here’s the kicker, we said okay we will pay the $60, then the county said well you’re on the list to get a trash can. They said as soon as we get to your name on the list we will contact you to pay the $60 for a trash can. I’m sorry ... a list?! What in the actual heck!! So we waited, which meant we could not put our trash outside and we don’t have a garage, so that meant we had to keep trash in our trash can as long as we could, oh yeah I forgot to tell you our garbage is picked up only once a week. So I decided to hunt down some other option and WA-LA! I found these incredible straps! We had waited over 2 months with no success getting our bear proof trash can from the county so I bought these and my husband put them on our trash can. Up until now the bears had been leaving the trash can alone so we began to wonder if we needed a bear proof trash can at all, then the county called us with our option to buy the trash can from them and we pondered this for a minute and as we debated about it ... BOOM the bear hit our trash can! He couldn’t get in. He bit our trash can and clawed at it but could not get it open! The straps of doom prevailed!! Ha, $10 for straps on a free trash can won this battle and the county can keep their “waitlisted” trash can.

worth it in the end
had a bear that would visit a couple of times a week. got these and now the bear cant get into the trash. sturdy enough for what we need. easy installation for me. would probably be a lot more difficult without a drill. only complaint are the clips that screw closed instead of springing closed. bought some carabiner clips and it is great now.

0/10 - The Bear does not recommend
Bear Review - I do not recommend these straps. Since the owners have been installed, the smorgasbord has been closed. I've tried to pry, bite and tear it open, but I just cant get to the deliciousness. This used to be my weekly treat, now it just brings me sadness. #wraprage #starvingbear #icanstillsmellitOwner Review - wildlife have not been able to crack these straps, no more having to clean garbage from the yard.

This works! Worth every cent!
As recommended in other reviews attached from front(see pics). So far has kept the bear out and he has tried several times. Our can is also ratchet strapped to a tree to prevent him from working on it on the ground. Finally not picking up green bin contents every day!Install took about 15 mins - does require a drill and bit.
