100% Average
I have recently purchased a complete set of Egyptian Cotton 200 Thread Count sheets (1 fitted sheet, 1 flat sheet, 1 duvet cover & 2 pillow cases) for my new King Size, 25 cm thick Memory Foam Mattress. My first impression? 100% average. Maybe my expectations were too high, maybe the product's description was over-emphasized and uplifted my expectations to an unrealistic level, maybe what I have read about Egyptian Cotton (and trust me, I've done hours and hours of research before deciding to order) simply wasn't met by these sheets.Whatever the case, they seemed the best option for the money (Β£61.96 a complete set, together with the postage and packing fees), since I really wanted to buy black sheets. The order arrived quickly, so I can't complain about that. However, from the moment I started unpacking, I noticed that one of the three plastic cases with buttons (in which the sheets were neatly packed) was completely torn to pieces! I was lucky enough that the sheets weren't damaged.Secondly, very soon afterwards, when I took a closer look at the labels sewn on the sheets, I observed that all of them stated different things than the outer package: these sheets are advertised as "Machine washable at 60Β° Celsius", whereas some of the inner labels read very clearly that they should be washed at a temperature no higher than 40Β° Celsius. Thirdly, their sewn labels read "100% Cotton", and not "Egyptian Cotton" as I would've expected. What a disappointment! This is just too amateurish: they could have bothered to fake the labels, and leave their customers with the impression - even if it would've been just placebo - that they have bought Egyptian Cotton sheets, and feel better about their purchase in the end.But no, the label on the outer package says something ("100% Egyptian Cotton"), while the inner label speaks loud and clear: plain cotton, people! 100% plain. I cannot begin telling you how disappointed I was by these discrepancies, especially since I have also bought another set of 100% Egyptian Cotton sheets (white, 400 Thread Count, from a well known seller), and their labels stated clearly "100% Egyptian Cotton".Some of you might think I'm overreacting. While I am aware that I tend to be over-critical sometimes, I also tend to be a rational buyer at least 95% of the times, and when I pay for Egyptian Cotton, that's what I expect to receive. 200 Thread Count or not, I wasn't interested in plain cotton sheets - I have plenty of those and I wanted to upgrade them. Moreover, as some customers already noticed, you can literally see through them. Being "100% Egyptian Cotton", I would've expected them to be a little thicker. I mean, it's true, they keep you warm (they really do), but they are far thinner than expected. Another downside of these sheets (which I have also found mentioned by some other customers, and apparently they were true) was the smell: my God, they really smelled unbearably... I had to wash them the day I've received them, to get rid of that stench. This wasn't necessarily an issue, apart from the fact that these sheets were needed on the bed ASAP (the new bed was bigger than the old one, so none of the old bed linen fitted). They wash well, I give you that, and provided the fact that you don't use too much laundry detergent, they don't get stained at all (as black usually tends to). I have washed them at 40Β° C, choosing the lowest temperature of the two stammered values. Some "technical" aspects now: the fitted sheet (elasticated all over) did not wrap up my mattress entirely, leaving a 2 cm line on one side uncovered, although both the sheet and the mattress are King Size (as I mentioned in the beginning of this review, my mattress is 25 cm thick). I have tried another fitted sheet from another company, and the other one fits perfectly. Regarding the pillow cases, they are sewn quite poorly: kind of obliquely, definitely not straight, cause I cannot get them to stay properly on the pillows. So, to sum it up: these are comfortable sheets (one sleeps well in them), they keep you warm, being black they offer a modern look to your bedroom, they wash well (at 40Β° C!), and they also feel ok at touch - soft and nice, in my opinion. However, I believe I am rather indulgent by giving them 3 stars of out 5: they are thinner than expected (you can literally see through them), I tend to believe they are just plain cotton (in fact, the label itself says "100% Cotton"), they smell horrendous upon arrival and you must wash them immediately, and the general overall impression is just... average.I can safely say I will not buy again. However, if your budget is limited and you don't want to spend more than Β£65 on a complete set of comfortable black sheets, then maybe these "100 Egyptian Cotton" ones are what you're looking for. In my opinion, they weren't what I was looking for.

Worth the Sheets
I ordered this Sheet 2 days ago and it arrived today. I spent a long time choosing this product and the most important aspect for me was to fit well and quality feel. The feel and quality of this sheet is amazing, soft with that fantastic pure cotton feel. The fit is perfect and the sheet I ordered was a double. The 400 thread count is as advertised so very happy with the product. I think overall would recommend and will probably buy again to keep a spare.

Impressed
Very impressed with the quality and colour. The photos when viewing the products tended to make me believe it would be lighter. Ohh no I got the red I wanted so Iβm very happy. The quality is there compared to the 50%cotton 50%polyester that I normally buy from Dunelm. Will not be buying there again. Yes more expensive but worthwhile I believe.I was confident to buy another set in a complimentary colour so I can mix and match, which I did only a couple of hours after making the bed up in the new linen. Can not comment on the washing, but the colour is strong so I donβt envisage any problems. They will be washed at 40c.Hope my honest review helps

Lovely and I'm buying more!
New house, newly decorated bedroom so thought I'd try proper bedding to finish the room off.I've always used the more common bedding from...well usually Asda and Dunelm.I looked at what the differences are between everything, what was the best to use and kept my budget in mind. After seeing this alongside the 330 count set from homescapes too I thought hey hey, look good, review well and priced at my budget ;)They arrived quickly, before estimated delivery so very happy with that.Washed them and line dried - washed well, dried well with no creases so straight on they went. They are lush to sleep in, so soft. My husband gets quite hot in bed and he thinks these are great to, they keep you cool and warm enough.I'm buying another so I'm definitely happy enough to recommend!!

Good, with a few buts
Good but very creased on receipt and not exactly easy to launder. It only just fits our kingsize bed despite the measurements stated seemingly being more than adequate - at least in theory! Loose threads had to be sewn in and the seams are not entirely straight which is only evident on ironing. The colour is good and closely matched a duvet cover I had purchased elsewhere so for those reasons and the fact I didn't have time to get an alternative before guests arrived for Christmas I kept it. I wish I had paid more for the higher thread count version which would probably have been better quality.

Excellent fit
After a lot of looking around I decided to get this 100% cotton fitted sheet and I was not disappointed. The fit is really good - but we have a fairly thin mattress so for a thick one you would have to get another one. This is much better than the sheets that only have the elastic only in the corners, it doesn't move around at all and the fabric is quite thin and feels soft to the touch. I would also recommend that you wash the sheets upon receiving them as they get a lot softer and feel nicer after the first wash. The color is good, however having just washed it once I can not tell how well it will last.Overall good quality, good fit and would recommend.
