Junior's Dessert Cookbook: 75 Recipes for Cheesecakes, Pies, Cookies, Cakes, and More

This book is awesome! I was recently in NYC and had the opportunity of staying at a hotel in broadway that was right across the street from Juniors. Went there for several meals (All great). Tried the Red Velvet Cheesecake and OMG! i thought i had died and gone to heaven! when i got home i immediately ordered the cookbook and math the cheesecake. It was perfect! I shared it with friends at a luncheon and they thought it was the best dessert they had ever eaten, there was not a crumb left.This book is great because it has other desserts besides the Red Velvet Cheesecake; they all look super fabulous. Cant wait to try some for the holidays.

I purchased this cookbook for the red velvet cupcake recipe. I just made the frosting and it is delicious!I am not sure why some people are not happy with the layout of the book. The only thing different in this cookbook from other cookbooks is the frosting or filling or glaze is not on the cake...cupcake...pie....brownie recipe page. all of those recipes on in a section of their own. The recipes are not at all hard to follow. Some are more complicated than others but all are doable and would not take a trained chef to make...create these deserts.I think this book is a beautfiul easy to follow cookbook. The egg cream and soda recipes are a bonus in my opinion. I look forward to making more luscious goodies from Junior's Desert Cookbook.

I don't want to rate this unfairly, so I gave it 5 stars, for all I know, the recipes are wonderful, odds are they ARE as I have ordered juniors cheese cakes and they are delicious, but the recipes are EXTREMELY complicated, at least for me, so since it's a personal preference thing, I gave it 5 stars as I don't want to rate it unfairly, but for me, it's just too much work. The lemon loaf looks delicious! I bet it is too, but again, these desserts require a LOT of ingredients, time and energy. For a Professional baker or someone who COULD be one, it's Perfect for YOU and odds are YOU would not be let down. :")

As a former resident and native of NYC Junior's is an Icon for good food and deserts. I've been away from there for many moons and after a neighbor served me a piece of cheesecake based on the recipe from the "Remembering Brooklyn" book I had to have it as well as the Dessert Cookbook.If anyone wants to know what it's like to be a Noo Yawka check the recipes...all outstanding and the best there is. You just can't get this kind of stuff anywhere else but the boroughs of NYC.-bob

I bought this for my sister in law and the recipes are great. Especially the black and white cookies. If you are a good baker then you don't need pictures. For the average baker more pictures would be a plus. Received book quickly so I had time to check out what was in there. I will have to get one for myself.

The recipes in this cookbook look wonderful. Most call for ingredients that are easily attainable by the average consumer. I wish that there was a picture with each recipe. Many pages are filled with narratives and stories about the company, the family or the origin of the recipe. I would prefer a photo so that I know if my dish looks like it is supposed to look.

Love this book, the recipes help you make products just like Junior's. The only thing I don't like is that the ingredients are spread out throughout the pages for each recipe instead of being lumped together at the beginning. Make it's a little more time consuming to make your grocery list, but other than that it's awesome. Like the tips in the back of the book that tell you potential reasons for why your dessert didn't turn out right.

The cheese cake recipe came out super! Read all the directions and even if your experienced at making cheese cake -- trust the recipe and follow exactly. It will be perfect and not have a split in the top of the cheese cake when your done. I bought a couple more to give to friends that liked the cheese cake.

I bought this cookbook after visiting the Junior's restaurant in Times Square, and ended up buying another copy as a gift. You see, I have a diabetic relative who loves to cook, and this book not only includes a huge variety of desserts and sweet treats, it's got a special section devoted to sugar free recipes. So even if you're watching your sugar, you can find something to love here.

une grande variété de recettes, une page de conversion des unités de mesure, des petites astuces pour chaque recettes, une rubrique d'aide "si le gateau n'est pas parfait" avec une colonne de problèmes et leurs solutions, cependant le livre manque cruellement de photos, dommage car c'est souvent ce qui donne envie de le realiser.
