Artistry in Fiber, Vol. 1: Wall Art (Artistry in Fiber, 1)

I am the librarian for my fiber arts guild. I purchased all 3 volumes of this series for our collection, and they are spectacular. This volume focuses on 2D art. Each artist is presented with her (or his) brief artist statement and several very high quality photos. At the end of the book is all the contact info for the included artists as well as their gallery info, which is a really nice touch. The books are solid, drool-worthy eye candy for anyone in the fiber arts. Kudos to the editors!

This is a gorgeous book! The layout is a visual feast on beautiful quality paper with room for the eye to take in the art as well as the artist's statement. Featuring the work of over 100 contemporary international fiber artists, Vol 1 includes media of paper, metal, seeds, fiberglass, as well as weaving and quilting. I am honored to have my work included in such a beautiful publication. Eye candy galore!

Beautiful work!

Having loved the Sculpture volume, I was excited to get this but a bit disappointed in the content. Very American (which is perhaps understandable in fibre - fiber- art) but I would have liked more variety in the medium as well.
