I enjoyed this film good acting I like Toby Jones as an actor and played the part very well. True story I think the true person who's it's about turns up in the film a couple of times.

In diesem biographischen Film geht es um das Leben von Neil Baldwin (Toby Jones). Neil wurde kurz nach Ende des letzten Weltkrieges geboren - es wurde bei ihm eine schwere Lernschwäche diagnostiziert. Doch Neils Mutter Mary (Gemma Jones) ermutigt ihn dazu, alles zu probieren, wonach es ihm steht. Mit 16 Jahren verließ er die Schule, um sich einem Circus anzuschließen, für den er als "Nello der Clown" auftrat. Daraufhin macht er Karriere an der Uni - seit 1960 besucht er unaufgefordert und unbezahlt die Keele University, um die neuen Studenten zu begrüßen, später bekommt er die lebenslange Ehrenmitgliedschaft und die Ehrendoktorwürde - und schließt im höheren Alter zahlreiche Kontakte, bis zu den mächtigsten Politikern des Landes. Auch zu erwähnen: seine Tätigkeit (seit Anfang der 90er Jahre) als Zeugwart (und einiges noch dazu) des Fussball Clubs Stoke City. Die Lebensphilosophie von Neil “I’ve always wanted to be happy so I decided to be” prägt nicht nur sein Leben, sondern äussert sich auch in der Machart dieses Films. Eine herrliche, sehr menschliche Vorstellung von Toby Jones, die Neil gerecht wird. Rührend, herzergreifend, lustig, komisch, schrill, humorvoll ---- kurz gesagt - absolutely marvellous!

Bought 2 for friends as a gift. Suitable for any gender or age above , Humn, perhaps 9 yrs. uplifting, funny, touching, true story. Excellently filmed. It is an English story with English actors and the true story took place there.

the reason why I bought the Samsung BD-F5700E Multi Region Zone Blu-Ray DVD Player

Didn’t see on the site that I would not be able to watch on my DVD player. I think that should have been explained up front. DVD is useless to me.
