Amazing game, sim, sporting masterpiece.
As a long time basketball and NBA fan this game is a dream come true, all the current NBA teams and a sizable amount of classic teams thrown in, including the 92' 'Dream Team' and the 96' Chicago Bulls. If you are a seasoned basketball player this game is just a pleasure to play, I set it to the All Star difficulty leval after some practice on pro and it is pure competitive, creative basketball fun. The graphics are superb, the players, courts, fans and uniforms look superb, the way the crowd responds to the game is very good adding a lot to the atmosphere. Presentation and the soundtrack are a real plus and did I mention that there are a ton of options, including an Ultimate team style 'My Team' mode? Indeed there are. Currently I'm trying to lead Derrick Rose and the Bulls to the title and having amazing fun, top game, 2k yet again show Ea how a sports game should be done.

I liked it!
I am not a big NBA fan but I could say that NBA 2K13 it's the absolute NBA console experience. Good gameplay, trying to be as realistic as possible, all the latest players - transfers - rosters etc. The latest NBA game I played was NBA Live 2004, so almost 9 years later I notice that the moves and controls become super complicated for an average basketball fan. I took the practice mode but might need to dedicate alot of time there to get used of all the moves and combinations. I would recommend this game!

Amazing! Totally recommend for the basketball fan
I was a bit skeptical about buying this game after playing the demo. However, this offers fantastic replay value as it has a virtual currency which really keeps me playing. You can also team up with your friends and create your own player and follow his career.Only problem with this would be that there is a bit of a learning curve for new players and the shooting gets jammed sometimes in the all star 3-point contest (maybe it's just my controller). Great game and i totally recommend it for the basketball fan!

Missed opportunity
I was genuinely excited about receiving and playing this game. Initially I loved it, presentation brilliant, the commentary and graphics are flawless, like watching NBA on the TV. But, after slogging through the My Career option, and then a league season, and even one off games, the AI just makes this game the most frustrating ever. Also, I'm not an American teenager with 18 hours a day to spend working through the endless controls and willing to find the sweetspot. The AI just frustrates, whether the team you are playing against, or your team-mates, or your own player. And how you are supposed to build up career SP points when you just don't get any reward for your in game actions, is beyond me. If you want a game to pick up and enjoy, go elsewhere. 2K need to look at EA's FIFA games to learn how to make a truly representational playable game.

Great but can improve
As usual, the NBA2k series games are the best for a basketball fan. This one is no different. The gameplay is the best it can be and there are lots of different modes. However, there are some points that I dislike, actually quite a lot.For instance the music. If you're not a fan of hip hop, you'll end up muting the bloody soundtrack. The loading times are also quite annoying. Really annoying. Since the moment you load the game until the actual jumpball you could end with almost 5 minutes, even if you go straight for the fast game. But don't get me wrong, this is the best basketball game so far, and a must have even with its drawbacks.

Game suffers from bugs
First off all the gameplay itself is not a problem it feels good and more fluid than 2k12. However it has been almost a month since I received this game and for my console MyCareer is still unplayable, I have searched online and many others seem to have the same problem however 2k do not seem to be fussed. This is a major problem if you buy this game mainly to play my career. I highly recommend not buying this game until Christmas as 2k sports for some reason like to release their games when they are half ready.

Great game!
I've bought the 2k10, 11 series, skipped 12 and bought this one. It took me a little time to get to grips with it, but the game play is incredible.I have spent most of my time on the MyPlayer section where you build your own player and build them up over time. It is immensely enjoyable working through games, learning and getting better. The game is very realistic and losing concentration even for a short time may result in your opponent scoring against you, so you do have to 'be there' the whole time you're playing.Well worth buying!highly recommended!

Perfect!
Im givin it 5/5 because:1. NBA 2k13 is absoulutely amazing. Perfect video game.2. Im a basketball fan. Obsession.3. Great value, delivery, delivery package adn delivery time. Thats a big + for Amazon, recommend this website for everyone.About the game: definitely recommend it to basketball fans, and basketball fans only; because unlike FIFA, NBA series is for fans only(in my opinion) you gotta love the sport to love the game, but its still non-fan friendly.
