Better than expected, and I expected they'd be good. Update
I've been waiting until I put some mileage on my Sunriser boots before I wrote a review. It's been almost 6 months since I received the boots. Like my last pair of Asolo boots, they took awhile (3 weeks) to break in to the point where they were totally comfortable. Once broken in, they are perfectly comfortable. I always wear them with Ultimax socks, and never get blisters. I use these boots only for hiking. So far, I've put about 400 - 500 miles on them, in moderate to rugged terrain. The Vibram soles have extraordinary grip on all dry surfaces, and most wet ones. The boots support my ankles solidly. Most of my hiking is on dry ground, but they have kept my feet dry the few times I've crossed shallow water that was below the top of the boot. The uppers are still in very good condition, but the leather at the toes is a bit ragged, as is to be expected, due to the rugged terrain I often cross. I had a pair of Asolo 520 GTX backpacking boots that I bought in 1998, and I wore the Vibram soles completely smooth on them. I had them re-soled, as the uppers are still in great shape. They are too heavy for me now, so I sent them to my son to use. My Sunrisers are lighter in weight, and easier on my over 65 year old legs. In summation, these boots are very rugged, and a great value for the price. These boots are very high quality. I bought them because they are made by Asolo, and Asolo did not let me down. I'm impressed.Update: I've had these boots for over a year now, and have beaten them up, on a regular basis, on various kinds of rough terrain. They are still in great shape, except that the outer leather on the toes is a bit more shredded. Some protective rubber on the toe area of the boots would make these boots perfect for the price.

Good quality, a little small
This is my second pair of Asolo Sunrise boots. They say they are true to size, and I wear a 9.5, but ordered a size 10 the first time, as I have flat feet and use Superfeet orthotics along with Dr. Scholl's Work Insoles in all my boots and shoes. I wear Thorlo light hiking socks all the time, too, so I need a boot with plenty of extra room inside.. The size 10's ran a little tight and narrow, just barely fitting, but after stretching a week or so, they were OK. On this second pair, I ordered a size 10.5 and it was perfect. No more cramped toes and plenty of room for orthotics, padded insoles and my feet. Arch support is OK, nothing special, but the orthotics I use take care of that. The Vibram sole is grippy and quiet when walking. Now that I have a better fitting pair of boots, I will test them out in the local mountains and desert. If you have normal feet, these boots are fine, if you need orthotics and insoles too, then order a full size larger. The toe box is nice, plenty of room for the big toes.

Stylish and functional
I wear these for warehouse work where I’m standing (moving actually) for 6 hour shifts and they’re comfortable, warm and stable. When I’m not working they pair nicely with jeans and a sweater for a casual day or night of fun. I wouldn’t wear them in the summer as they are flannel lined and warm. Sweet pair of boots for knocking around.

Great pair of boots!!
I really appreciate the detail within the smooth design. I truly hope Asolo never parts with this classic look. So, I got these boots for going to work everyday in the cold-weather in Philly, and I wanted a new look. Soon as I tried them on, my Wife had one word, Yes! With a slight lower-lip bite... Soooo, ummm yeah.I'm loving the durability, and on top of everything they improved the look of my work uniform. Hot shoes Bruh, seriously. Definitely my new go to.

Nice boots, good price.
Very nice leather boots for the money. Fit perfect out of the box as all Asolos do for me. Waterproof and a good agressive sole. Arrived fast, too!

Good construction. Good value. Best for a narrow footbed.
I have used leather versions of Asolo boots for 15 years. Wonderful and fit straight from the box without the need to break in. Only problem I ever ran into was that the sole would separate after 5-7 years. But . . .Unfortunately, these boots have a differently shaped footbed. Too tight for my feet, so, reluctantly had to send back. Tried three sizes: my regular, 1/2 size up, 1 size up. unfortunately, all were to narrow for my rather wide feet. They are made in China, not Europe, so might account for the difference.Otherwise, quality seemed good, and a good value for an Asolo.
