Cordova Outdoors Basecamp Class™ Hard Cooler, 48 QT Gray

Purchased a pair of Cordova 48 quart hardside roto-molded coolers to use on boats and camping. The Cordova coolers have some better features versus competitors. First, the handles are aluminum with built in bottle openers versus most competitors that use either rope or fabric strap handles. Next is the feature where the lid stays open when in the upright position, so the lid isn't dropping down when accessing the cooler. The "goat grip feet" will keep the cooler from sliding around on the boat, plus can strap the cooler down in rough water. Hinges appear heavy duty, as does all the hardware and latches. The cooler has a refigerator style gasket that makes the cooler air tight when closed and latched. The cooler lid has two places that can take a lock.This is a veteran owned company with products made in the USA. While the website calls out the lifetime warranty, not all products are covered with the lifetime warranty. The hardside coolers are a 5 year warranty. Based on build quality and how I will use these coolers I don't have any concerns about these coolers lasting for decades. Cordova also has baskets, dividers, etc, that can be purchased if needed.I would not hesitate to recommend the 48 quart Cordova hardside coolers. For less than $245 the 48 quart cooler is a great value.

The first was one of the largest ones: we purchased for camping. This smaller one we purchased for day trips. We need coolers that will keep the food cold and ice frozen for days, as well as is bear proof. These do the job perfectly.

Great American made cooler.

Purchased direct from manufacturer, so some of these issues may be alleviated by purchasing from Amazon. Ordered the cooler the day before a large sale. I attempted to cancel the order before shipment and reorder, but no such option was available.I reached out to customer service they day after my order, who took a week to respond that they could do nothing to apply the discount (since it was now a week later).Based on this experience, I would not expect any type of warranty claim to be honored. However, the cooler itself seems solidly built, so I am hopeful this will not be needed.

Although I did not purchase this cooler through Amazon, I got it from a local retailer & it lives up to the reviews.The first time I used it, I did NOT pre-load it the night before leaving on my trip AND it still out performed my expectations.I loaded it completely full with my drinks, food items and one 10# block of ice, topping that off with cube ice at 10 AM on a Sunday morning, returning home the following Friday afternoon @ 4PM & it still had half of the 10# block remaining. The "THREE" main features that this cooler offers that ALL others DO not, especially the latching method are just an added benefit to it's over-all function & ease of use.UPDATE: 10-10-19Up until recently Cordova did not offer a wire food basket for their coolers. They're available now on their web site, unfortunately the basket for the Medium 50 works only if you do not use the cooler dividers. Apparently it's made to fit both the 50 & 100 but you can only use the divider with it in the Large size 100. I did a work around by using the "nICE" 75 quart food basket offered here on Amazon. It does require using a hack saw & cutting the tabs on each end of the basket then placing some plastic bolt thread protectors over the cut ends. ( hardware store ). I also purchased a plastic divider from Wally World ( plastic cutting board ), about $8, and cut the length to size, the width was perfect.
