Sherpa Travel Pet Carrier Accessory, Comfort Strap, Black (56014)

I bought this for an airline trip with my 9 lb dog. It was a great relief on my shoulders. It easily worked cross body or over one shoulder. I even recommended it to another person traveling with a pet carrier.

Fit well under seat in front of me. My dog appeared comfortable in it for the entire flight.I didn't buy the one with wheels because doing so would have made the carrier too tall to meet AA standards for fitting under the seat in front of me. However, I wish there was a way to attach wheels once inside the airport and then remove them so that the carrier would be the approved height. I could then put the wheels in my purse until arrival at our destination airport and reattach the wheels once in the airport so that I wouldn't have to shoulder-carry my pet inside the carrier. Solving the need for wheels that can be removed prior to boarding a flight would be a great service to those purchasing this carrier. The height with wheels becomes an issue once boarding the plane. Thanks.

What a relief to my shoulders! Distributes the weight evenly in a soft, comfortable way.Like that I can hold her close in the crowded airports using this comfort strap.

The strap is very well made but mine arrived with a defective clip. The plastic is so hard I was afraid I would break it if I tried to force the clip into the correct position. I have requested a replacement.

I just received this Sherpa comfort strap and immediately connected it to my Sherpa Original Deluxe carrier. I put my chihuahua mix inside the carrier and hefted him onto my shoulder--I did the crossbody position since it works better to stabilize and to distribute the weight better (I tried both ways). Bear is about 14 pounds. I carried him all around the house and it felt so much better on my shoulders and back. Felt more secure and stable, too. I didn't have to hold the carrier to keep it on my shoulder either so my hands were free--a plus!The proof will be when I fly and am rushing through an airport, and when I do that, I will come back here and tell you how my experience went. I am hopeful that this will do just as it did around the house: distribute the weight, not pull down on my shoulder, give me a hands-free experience, and not feel as heavy.What I don't like is what others have said: the clips are plastic while the Sherpa carrier I have has strap hooks that are metal. Why is Sherpa cheapening out here? This strap is $25! Give us some better quality in the hooks if you are going to charge that much. I hope the plastic holds up over time.

I was so incredibly disappointed in this strap. I’ve had several of these pet carriers and loved them. But the straps aren’t comfortable if your pet is heavy or you have to carry them for a long time. I was hoping this could be a solution.But not only was this strap less comfortable somehow (it bunches up in one place easily, failing to distribute the weight) it also slides off your shoulder easily and doesn’t provide stability while carrying.To make matters even worse, while the original strap has metal locking clasps, this one has incredibly cheap plastic clips.I can’t recommend this to anyone. It’s simply not as advertised and isn’t an improvement over the strap that comes with the original carrier.

Finally found a strap that stays on my shoulders. Love that it spreads the weight across the stretchy part on the strap which makes it super comfortable to tote around my dog in his Sherpa carrier anywhere I go.

So comfortable. Carried a cat through the airport without any problems.
