Comfy right out of the box!!
I have the classic chacos and like them, but my feet are sore sometimes from them (especially early in the season) plus the heels rub on the inside of the heel posts because it probably should be wider for me.These are less bulky, more comfortable and I think slightly wider than the classic Chaco footbed. I would normally wear a 9.5 wide, I bought a 9 and these fit great!Thank you Chacos for a quality sandal that is durable, comfy, cute and supportive.

Try them on first if possible!!
So happy to find these! I was starting to wonder why everyone is so gaga over these shoes, but it turns out it was all a matter of figuring out which model fit me best. If you're looking into Chacos, I HIGHLY recommend trying different ones out--I had a hard time with this, given the lack of shopping opportunities in my smallish town. The Zvolvs are the 3rd pair I ordered.First of all, they fit significantly smaller than the classics or ZCloud. I usually wear an 8-8.5 depending on the shoe, and the 8 works best for me in these. That said, I would've gone down to a 7 in the other two types if I kept them. I also tried the wide in the Clouds (just in case that was the issue), and they were really big in the heel and ball areas. The straps are a little tighter on the ZVolvs too, so if you have wide feet, you may want to consider a bigger size. I like the texture of the insole best in this model--the others were a little rough on my feet and actually hurt, though I guess this is a preference. Another thing to consider: the Zvolvs have a much lower profile, making them considerably lighter. I personally thought the others (classic/ZCloud) were too heavy and clunky. Finally, they have a lower arch (and in fact are lower all around) so this made them more comfortable to me as well. They still do a good job of cupping the heel, but the Classics and ZClouds were way too contoured in the heel, arch, and sides for me--and I don't have a super flat foot.Bottom line, I really like the ZVolvs and FINALLY figured out that Chacos COULD be comfortable for me. It just took a lot of research, money, and eventual returns, so if you have the opportunity, try them on first! But I will be wearing them a lot this summer :)

Wonderful new flexible lightweight Chaco!
This new Chaco is really better than ever!My first pair of Chaco was purchased in 2000. That original pair was superb! The sandals lasted 10 years with moderate use,and still looked new. No wear to sole. Those sandals were worn on hikes, for a national forest service job, and then in the summer, in the ocean, etc...So...well worn....Why am I saying this? B/c after 10 years, the shoe delaminated due to my negilegence (sandals left for months in the trunk of my hot car)...So in 2010 I had to buy a new pair, and did. At that point, Chacos were no longer made in the U.S.A. but China, and my new pair felt nothing like the original. I did buy a toe strap pair that could not be adjusted. In disgust, I threw them away after a few months and blisters in the trash. Fast forward today...I decided to give them another go now that Chaco had a new sole that was not a Vibram sole (much lighter I heard)....plus I was tired of wearing muddy sneakers on my hikes... I was planning on trying this new pair on, and returning them if they didn't work out....I can tell you how pleasantly surprised I was! The new sandals more than deliver...1. New sole is much much lighter than Vibram sole....allowing me to wear them all day right out of the box.2. No break in period.3. Straps adjusted right away for me. It took me only a few minutes to find the perfect fit.4. Worn all day long and my foot felt great!5. I have an injury that hasn't completely healed (I broke my ankle 6 months ago), but these sandals really made it possible torun around and hike all day long w/out discomfort by the end of the day. This is huge for me!6. The only slightly annoying issue is the strap. It hangs a bit in the back. I just folded it under the strap. I may have someone with a good sewing machine shorten it for me. Otherwise, these sandals are perfect. Now, lets see if this pair lasts me 10 years. So there you have it, I'm a believer in Chacos once again, and can now recommend them. I still wish they were made in the U.S., and maybe they will be again.

Already Impressed
I’ve wanted a pair of Chacos ever since I borrowed my aunt’s for a rafting trip at age 14. Now at 25 I’m planning a whitewater trip of my own, so I finally went for it. So far I’m pleased. Since (almost) every strap is adjustable, you get a custom fit that hugs your feet. I’ll never have to worry about the current tugging them off or my feet slipping around when they’re wet. Last night I walked around in them and the support is really nice. I also ended up walking out in the rain a bit and they stayed tight and comfy. My only complaint is that the heel strap is the only one you can’t adjust, so it’s a tiny bit loose (not enough to lose a star though, since the other straps still keep your foot snug).I usually wear a 9.5 and decided to go up to the 10, which was a good plan. My heel sits very close to the back of the shoe, and I think it’s easier to tighten a slightly larger size than loosen a small one, plus it gives my toes a little extra buffer.Overall they feel sturdy, fit well, and the orange pair I got is really pretty cute!

Worth the Hype
This was my first pair of Chaco's after hearing multiple recommendations from my American friends who raved about them . I have size 5.5 feet and was not sure which size to buy (5 or 6). After looking at the sizing guide I chose the size 5, which work well. The straps offer plenty of adjustment for my feet, and I tuck any leftover strap back into the sandal so they don't get dirty. At first these shoes will make your feet sore, so don't immediately go for a long walk. Slowly break them in. After a couple weeks I have become enamored with the comfort they offer. They are my favorite shoes to wear. I have taken them hiking up a mountain and they did quite well, except for some shale bits which had a tendency to get stuck under my feet. I have washed them once since they acquired some lake water smell after wearing them on a weekend lake vacation. Overall a fantastic shoe which I hope will last quite a few years.
