These are factory set at 60 degrees. Try it first over a few days and if your water is still too hot you can turn it down slightly. Only takes a fraction of a turn towards the negative sign. Does it's job.

Not 42cm
I decided to give this the lowest rating so maybe the seller will notice and change the description. Partially my fault, it does say 11” further down the description but why would I read a description that is way down the bottom of the listing when, right at the top of the listing, it says it is the size I am looking for? The item is probably perfectly fine if you are looking for an 11” thermostat but you may have eliminated this from your search after seeing the description saying it is 42cm which is about 16.5 inches!Top marks, as always, for Amazon’s return procedure though.

Easy to fit, not so easy to set up.
It took under two minutes to remove the old thermostat and fit the new one. It took days to set the thermostat to the desired temperature. This it because there is no temperature scale just “+” and “-“. So it is necessary to run a hot water cycle between each attempt until the correct temperature is reached. Also, the safety cut out is at 98°C. Since when has water at that temperature been safe? Luckily my immersion heater has its own safety cut off at 69°C.

Backer or Cotherm?
Arrived with sticker on "Backer BMST11C". Embossing on body says "Cotherm TSDR1103".Works perfectly, small head fits well. Two wires to connect.. BUT maximum temperature set at 60C.
