pretty good
I got it used for a really good price, (under $1), but that's more of a seller thing as I suspect it's more expensive in every other case, they probably just really wanted to get rid of it. The info is not hard to grasp but it is fairly outdated in some cases, as RFID tech and application has advanced pretty far since this was written. If you want to understand the basic terminology, history, and theory I think it's pretty solid. Good real world examples of applications and risks, but also quite a few "in the near future, x will probably happen" scenarios that don't stand the test of time, which can't be helped as it's such a quickly changing world

Perhaps a bit dated
Based on the date, I knew this book would not say anything about NFC standard. I bought it hoping it would include some discussion of ISO 14443 and its relation to Mifare, but apparently those standards came out after the book was published.

Oldie but Goodie
A bit long in the tooth- it is 10 years old. But still the best intro to basic RFID technology. Well suited to the novice and someone looking for key implementation concepts.

It's a lot more elementary than I thought it would be. I'm a computer scientist working in RFID needed to know more details.
