Sweet little book that makes a great gift
When my wife and I were debating about what book to give to a friend of ours who just had their first baby, we went back and forth for a bit. Then, my wife mentioned "Little Bunny Follows His Nose" and the decision was easy. We logged in to Amazon and ordered the book right away.LBFHN is one of the best "interactive" books out there. It has old fashioned "scratch n' sniff" panels that let your child experience the smell of fresh peaches, sharp pickles, and even chocolate chip cookies! It's a sweet, simple story of a mother bunny who turns her little bunny out into the wide world to "follow his nose," and describes the friends, sights and smells he sees along the way.Your child will love scratching the little panels and experiencing the smells, and you'll enjoy watching them "get into" the book. I know that, when we gave the book to our friend, her 1-year-old did!Four stars--I took one off because the publishers, in their infinite wisdom, decided to change the wording of the book to be more "PC" than in the version my wife grew up with. Thus, pine needles smell like "winter" instead of "Christmas" and little bunny gets chocolate chip cookies instead of chocolate mint cookies at the end, though I'm not sure why they made that change...

No scents
Very good condition outside and most pages...but the round scent stickers had no scent except a bit on the pine one. I was disappointed but I guess it will still be a good book for my 2 year old grandson to look at on car trips.

Still a great book after 30 years!
I have a very old edition of this book from when I was a little girl - so well loved that the scratch-n-sniff stickers have fallen out. I was thrilled to find this newer edition of the same book for my children to enjoy. The scents are similar, and brought back memories. I was surprised to find that the text has changed some. The pine scent now "smells like winter", and not "Christmas" as it did 30 years ago. Hooray! My family does not celebrate Christmas, so I am pleased by this change. The only drawback is that the scents are just round solid color stickers, not shaped image stickers like in my original book. Kind of a let-down.

Same the same as the original book from the 70's.
I ordered this book to have my Grandmother give to my daughter. She had given the same exact book to me in 1972, when I was a small child. I still had my origianl copy of the one given to me, however, the stickers that you smelled on the pages, had all worn off. When we received my son's copy, the stickers used for the "scratch and sniff", were simple round stickers unlike the stickers used in the 70's, which were shaped like the items in which you are scratching. Also the scent was not as strong as I had remembered prior. If you've never seen the original book, you would probably rate this 5-stars. I still recall the original stickers, so I gave it 4-stars. ;)

The old books were better made, but what kid doesn't love a scratch-and-sniff!
I had this book growing up and I LOVED it. (Like I mentioned in the title though, the old book covers were a little "heavier duty" than this one, but if you had nothing to compare it to, you probably would never think about it). They say that smells are the strongest things attached to memories, and I would tend to agree. I still remember each and every smell in there. I decided that I wanted a copy of my own for nostalgia's sake, and in case I ever have kids of my own too. It's a cute story, and is a wonderful "interactive" option for bed-time reading for kids. You won't be disappointed.

Not as good as original
I have the original version from when I was little, but from being so used some of the scent appliques have fallen off and it's a little beat up. I bought two of these so my two kids could each have one. I am disappointed with the "cheapness" of the new version. The scents are just solid color sticker dots placed on top of the picture of what makes the smell. The original version is actually a full sticker "picture" of what smells. There are a few minor changes in wording too. In any case, my daughter still loves the book and it is a great story.

slight changes from the original
My parents read this book to me countless times growing up. I haver parts memorized to this day. My copy doesn't smell anymore and is very worn. I ordered this to update it for my 3 year old, who enjoys it as much as I did. The font is different from the original book which isn't a biggie. I was slightly disappointed that instead of the scratch and sniff sticker being in the shape and picture of the item Little Bunny is smelling, it's a colored circle slapped over the picture. Definitely not as cool. Plus they changed his favorite "chocolate mint cookies" out for plain old chocolate chip. Overall it's a great purchase but these nuances were enough to not make it a spectacular purchase for me.

Nostalgic trip for 70's-born mothers
I finally realised my old original copy of this, from my own childhood in the seventies, was overdue for replacement when there was more sellotape than book, and was delighted to find it in print again. So I bought it to read to my own daughter (nearly 3).I vividly remember the illustrations and the scratch and sniff pages, and they are just as wonderful second time around. The text is Americanised though ('Mommy' not 'Mummy') and the racoons and dill pickle are surely new additions. My daughter seems to love it as much as I did, although looking at it through adult eyes, it doesn't seem so instantly appealing as, say, Julia Donaldson's books etc. Who knows what little triggers appeal to small children? Maybe it is just the scratch and sniff? Whatever it is, this is a lovely book, and for we sentimental mummies, it feels like completing a circle of life...

Excellent purchase
The scents are remarkably realistic. My daughter was reminded of her childhood book and delighted that she could share similar story and experience with her daughter. Her own book was still scented years later despite being scratched used by a subsequent sibling.

More scratch than sniff
The smell lasted for just 1 week on this book. Book itself is great for kids but again why buy a scratch and sniff book when the smell doesn't last more than a week?
