INCREDIBLE FOR THE PRICE
Looked at lots of sump boxes as the one I had "gave up the ghost". This shower sump box was less than the price of a replacement pump in the old box (which was gross by the way) which looked to be the original. I read the reviews saying it was "cheap" but, when it arrived, I found it to be substantial and well made. As noted in some reviews, I noticed that the inlet and outlet sides were reversed from the old box but this was only a minor inconvenience. I hooked it up, fastened it in place and tested it. Worked great and best of all, no temperamental float switch like the old one. I truly dislike the float switches as I find them to be wholly unreliable over time. I use the shower daily. After a month, no issues and works as it should. Even if it gives out every year, still cheaper than the ones at West Marine or other marine stores. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Install it carefully and it should be ok, works well so far.
It's a very cheap alternative/replacement of the shower sump/pump on my boat. $280 for a straight sawp, versus $40 for this was a no -brainer for me as I only need occasional use of it.PROs:- easy to install: cut the hose bard end off with a hacksaw for the size you need, then attach hoses - DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN HOSE CLAMP, YOU WILL BREAK IT EVENTUALLLY! Then wire in the pump.- all-in-one unit has box/lid with pump and integrated float switch in it- it has a slot-in 'filter' screen to stop hair etc getting into pumpCONs- filter screen is pretty flimsy, as is the unit itself - IF YOU'RE BLUEWATER CRUISING, avoid this and buy a better housing. You don't want a broken hose barb on the box to break off whenever the hoses get jolted around after a couple of seasons...- Integrated float switch will probably fail before the pump.SUMMARYBuy it for a quick/cheap item to do the job with light use inshore, if you're happy doing your own maintenance. Great value in that context. Install it carefully with strain relief on hoses.

Not a replacement for a higher priced shower bilge pump...
We've been onboard now 20 years and, like all sailors, are on a constant look out for doing things as inexpensive as possible. We had popped for the $130 pump when the original died 8 years ago, when shower #2 pump died i thought i'd give this a try. The float switch didn't always come on, which meant it overflowed into the bilge with shower water. The pump itself seemed to have priming issues which once again put shower water into the bilge. While our bilge is now quite clean from constantly being scrubbed, i left this on the "free table" at a marina with a note warning of its issues. Spent the $130 on a shower pump.

Not reliable
This appears to be identical to many other higher priced units. The basic design is good and installation is painless. The different sized inlet ports are really close together but is isn't too tough to get everything connected. The near fatal flaw is the float switch has a horrible habit of sticking so the pump doesn't cycle on turning my shower pan into a wading pool. The only fix is to jiggle the pan around until the float decided to float. I will be looking for a different design to replace this unit.

Nicely Made - quiet and effective
Easy drop in replacement for the TWO Rule sumps that I had before. The Rule sumps had serious proble,ms with the float switch behaving badly and was very unreliable. Both units failed in a couple years of use. This unit is solid - can be left on the entire weeks of a cruise and make no noise unless the shower is used. It pumps super fast and shuts down. Easy to clean our hair etc. Price was so good I bought a second one as a spare but the performance so far gives me the idea I may want to sell my second one.

Was ok could be better.
It works great but box is a little small so it doesn’t take long to fill up and empty. Which when your in the shower It cuts on an of continuously and after you use it it keeps cutting on and off on and off until you turn the pump on and pump it out fully so I believe it would be better made if it was larger tank not taller but larger and a secondary float switch instead of an automatic switch switch for the bilge pump added to it and positioned where the pump is at the bottom and the float switch is about an inch above the bottom .

Good pump but the float switch stopped working.
I purchased this unit towards the end of the 2019 season. Installation was relatively straightforward. Unfortunately, the float switch isn't correctly cycling the unit on. If I tap in the top it will switch on. Otherwise, the shower water just overflows into the bilge. When it did work, the float seemed to shut the unit off too quickly, leaving too much water in the box. This results in short cycles. Not a huge issue, but the design should allow for a float adjustment.

Works Great
Easy install & a Great pump depending on how your boat is plumbed. Used this pump in our old boat but the lines ran down then out. Unable to use in current boat because lines run up then out. I previously installed two of these, they work great. Just remember to periodically clean out the box (hair, etc.) & flush with a little vinegar to help keep lines & small amount of waterthat stays in the box odor free.
