Good running shoes
Probably the best running shoes I got. They are cushioned and comfortable for long runs.

Mizuno Wave Riders Need to Stop Being Hoka
I have run in Mizuno Wave Riders for years with the following models: 25,23,22,21,19, 18,16. But these Wave Rider 28s are not like the others. What was Mizuno thinking? For a serious runner like me I think they want to compete with Hoka but Hoka is for the weekend warrior runner who isn't concerned about speed, discipline and pushing hard. While the Wave Rider retains its 12mm drop the fact that the shoe is higher off the ground because of increased cushioning has changed the dynamics of this shoe for me. Maybe others like this new style but for me it does not work anymore. The addition of the cushioning and the changes Mizuno made changed my running gait. This started to put pressure on Piriformis. Part of the cause is for a neutral shoe it seems to make my stride want to supinate. I never had this issue with the previous Wave Riders as they were truly neutral. Further the faster the pace the more these shoes seem to aggravate the Piriformis. Some might say maybe I am dealing with an injury but here is the kicker I purchased Mizuno Wave Legacy's and in my first run I could run pain free because the Legacy seems to capture the magic of the old Wave Rider. Anyways this was my experience and unfortunately I have to sets of 28s but will not be running in them. Mizuno should stop trying to chase the competition because some people appreciated the consistency the Wave Riders brought before they made their modifications in the 27/28 cycle.
