Overall, we are very pleased with the blinds. They were easy to install and took less than 5 minutes to do. They go up and down so smoothly! The only thing we noticed was that of the 2 we bought the one when pulled down rebounds about an inch. So, we just have to keep that in mind when adjusting it. They are made of a heavier material, so they adequately darken the room. I got them fitted to set inside the window so only have a sliver of light on the sides.

It was really important to me to be able to keep my blinds in the window, and I couldn’t find any retractable shades that installed into the sides of the inner window frame while keeping the blinds too. Oh well. I ordered these in the exact size of my window frame width, hoping I might be able to install them inside, but since they only mount from the top or back, I ended up installing them outside of the frame. However, I do think I like this better. They look a lot more blended in than I expected - you can hardly notice it’s a separate assembly. I even kept the valence for the blinds back there. The installation was very easy, and the shade seems to be well made. It retracts smoothly, and is easy to operate both up and down. My one and only complaint is that it does sit a bit far off of the wall, so there’s quite a gap where the light comes through, even with the blinds completely closed. But it’s a lot darker than it was without the shade (I did not want to give up those curtains, even though they are not blackout), so overall I’m very happy with the result and my toddler is finally napping again!

I ordered 2 Perislux blackout shades and they were very easy to install and look great. However the first time the shades were drawn during daylight I noticed a small hole in one of them. I contacted Perislux and they asked for a photo...which I sent. They agreed it was a defect in the manufacturing process. They replied that since I purchased the shades thru Amazon I had to return them to Amazon. I contacted Amazon and Amazon was great. They sent me a new shade and I returned the one with a hole in it to them via UPS at no charge.I am just a bit disappointed in the customer service from Perislux. It was their problem and I feel they should have handled it directly and not "passed the buck" to Amazon. Oherwise, the shades are very nice.

I wish I had found these sooner because I overspent on one of those websites for blinds and these are much better! The raise and lower works great and they look good. Easy for me to install.
