Spanish for Medical Professionals: Essential Spanish Terms and Phrases for Healthcare Providers

I am partial Hispanic and was not taught Spanish completely as a child (haha I blame my mother all the time she knows it haha) However, now as an adult I’m getting better with learning, speaking and writing and would now like to tie it into my career!I have some fluent Spanish speaking coworker’s read over the book for me just to be sure things are good and easily understandable for me and they were in AWE !! 2 of them wanted me to send the link because of how educational this book is! I use this book to help interpret patients sometimes myself lol and have used it to show me what they are trying to say when an interpreter wasn't available.

This book is very useful. It could stand to be a bit more detailed but I am learning what I need to check in any Spanish speaking patients

I work in medical field and this brought slot of words to remembrance I had forgotten about the body! Great for hospital and health clinic workers!

So, the content itself seems useful and the audio files are available and work. Unfortunately, in my book, every even page from page 2 through 170 had a white/blank streak going through the pages in the same place where the toner or ink wasn't printing on the paper. (Edit: and on the odd pages thereafter). Additionally the flashcards would not download onto my android phone or my Mac computer. That is fine however, I prefer to make my own anyway.All in all, for 15 bucks, it has what I need.

This is a very helpful study guide for Spanish medical interpreters

This book made me laugh with all of the mistakes and poor editing job. Some of the pages have phonetics some don’t. Some of the English terms are medically inaccurate but the Spanish is correct. I do like some of the cultural dos and donts added in as well as explanation of a bit of the grammar. The font is larger than necessary and the headings are not placed properly so that the information is not all in the right category. The information repeats and it feels like a high schooler saying ‘Look at the high word count for my essay!’

I have really found the material of the book and how it is structured helpful and simple to understand. I have a prior knowledge of Spanish and I sue to be fluent in it, however, I have forgotten many general words that are used for everyday communication and I never knew all( just basic ones) external and internal body part names. This book provides a good, straightforward quick overview of the main phrases that medical specialist and others need to start and keep basic communication and are useful as s reminder or for a person with no prior Spanish knowledge. I like that there are examples of sounds found in English words and transcriptions included. I also found images very helpful when learning body parts. I think it makes it a lot easier to learn medical terms and body part names. All in all, I think the book is very successfully structed and have a lot of aids to help learn quickly. Highly recommended for medical specialists.

I do enjoy learning about health and nutrition, so I though this would be a good way of getting back into Spanish, which I haven't studied for a while.I think this book is a pretty comprehensive overview of medicine in Spanish, with a focus on the most useful phrases, which I appreciate.

Pretty nice book, first few pages go over some basics (like the alphabet n pronunciation of stuff) and then the rest builds up from there. Pretty clear and easy to find words/phrases I'm looking for (e.g good morning)

Helpful divisions into body sections (e.g. the head, the heart, the eye). I really appreciate the content on the Consent Form, very useful!
