My 7-year-old son is obsessed with dinosaurs and fossils. He would love to be able to experience a real dig. This ArtSkills epic set is right up his alley!The set itself is disassembled plastic dinosaur pieces “buried” in a molded clay slay along with extraction tools such as a chisel, hammer, and brush. Your child can carefully chisel or bang away at the clay to reveal, one at a time, pieces of the dinosaur. After all pieces are excavated, they can be assembled to look like a skeleton.The kit is messy business. There is an included mat, but we chose to do this activity outside. Excavating carefully took my son about an hour. He was very patient and went about it slowly so he wouldn’t accidentally chop through a “bone”. If your kid is not so patient and is more aggressive, it would be possible to superglue in the event of an accident.After getting all the bones out, there is a booklet that tells about the dinosaur and assembly takes five minutes or less.My son loves having the bones on a shelf to be displayed now that he’s done assembling it.Overall this is a great toy, perfect for a dinosaur lover. This would make a great gift snd id a very good value!

This kit is super fun and comes with everything you could need to have lots of dino fun! It comes with a good variety of tools, and the end result is a dinosaur skeleton that my brother loves. Great buy!

The digging kit can provide a couple hours of fun. If you have someone interested in fossils or dinosaurs, I would recommend this kit. It was a fun experience for my nephew and something new for him to try out. I'm happy with the gift selection and I believe he was as well.
