worked as expected; long cable
I ordered a set of smart thermostats and while one part of my HVAC system had a C wire, the other did not. After trying to remedy this at the source, I decided to order this transformer as a simpler solution, as my second thermostat was directly above an outlet.Installation was a breeze and the transformer worked as expected. It also has a very long cable in case your outlet is not as conveniently available as mine was.

did not work for me
I tried to use this to avoid having to run a new wire from my hvac, but it didn't want to power up my ecobee so I ended up having to pull a wire anyway. Maybe I ran it wrong so it could be on me but in the end it took less time to do it correctly than to figure out what was going on.
