Stop researching.!!! Ruffwear is the best .
If you don’t have a lot of time on your hands to research and look through countless reviews in the hopes of finding the perfect collar, leash and harness for your precious dog ( who of course deserves the best), look no further thanRUFF WEAR.. The leash is lightweight and extremely sturdy. My dog has chewed his way through other leashes..but not his RUFFWEAR leash. The collar is also made very well and it is the only collar that does not bother him. NOW for the Harness. I have bought numerous harnesses in the past that my dog hides when he sees them. They have been too heavy, or pinch him under his front legs. The RUFFWEAR harness is constructed just right. All clips on all products are crafted for security. . All are good looking, comfortable, easy to adjust and well priced. The control I have while walking my dog with RUFFWEAR products ( especially when he sees another dog) can not be beat. I sound like a RUFFWEAR salesperson, but I am not.I just love dogs.

Very Good
This is a nice leash with an excellent locking clasp. It works very well with the Ruff Wear coupler which also has the locking clasps. My two dogs are secure! The "handle" at the end of the leash is nice too and also works well with the coupler. It's light weight, but seems strong enough for my two 50 pound dogs and it's comfortable.

Lighter than expected, and that's great.
This is a fantastic leash. The clip is the best that I have ever used. The wire gate makes it easily connected and disconnected with one hand. Even with gloves, even if you can't hold the collar D-ring or harness, it just works. Milled out of billet aluminum, with a stainless wire gate, swivel, and D-ring rather than cheaply cast out of zinc, this feels like a climbing carabineer compared to a keychain. The webbing is surprisingly light and thin. I honestly would have dinged a cheaper leash for cheaping out here, the other leash I have is much thicker. But it's more than strong enough to be a leash, like a ratchet strap. The combination of the special clip and strong but light webbing is strong enough to *hold my 160 lbs off the ground* - it will be fine for walking the dog. There is a padded handle, so it's not uncomfortable. It's 59" long - I think they must have been shooting for 5' +- 1", and just came up a bit short. The only downside of this light webbing is that it took a bit of training for my pup to realize when the leash was getting taut. It's not nearly as heavy as what she was used to. But she caught on after a couple miles. The grab handle at the collar is handy. My dog is just a bit too short to walk while holding it - we bump into each other. The handle part is about an inch longer than the main leash part, so while it's mostly flush it's easy to grab. The light webbing is nice when using this handle because it is almost unnoticeable bumping on my shins and calves when I hold the main handle with one hand and walk the dog on the other side.Another great Ruffwear product!

Seems very sturdy
We've been using this leash and the coordinating harness for just over a week, so I can't speak to the durability yet. However, it does feel quite sturdy and I"m confident it will last longer than other leashes we've had. We have a reactive dog so a sturdy leash is important to us. We like the cushioning in the handle, locking mechanism on the clip, and the traffic handle on the lower part of the leash for safety. The clip isn't the easiest to clip/unclip but we leave it clipped to her harness and just take her harness on and off with the leash attached. The one thing I dislike about the leash is that the edges of the handle are kind of scratchy and irritate my wrist. Maybe I'm just fragile though.

Great leash
I've tried multiple different leashes and so far this is my favorite one. Love that it's lightweight but also strong. If you have a dog that moonlights as a magician and can somehow get off their leash in various settings including pet stores then this is the leash for you since it locks and has yet to fail me. I like the padding and the little section for poop bags or to put your thumb through. It also has a built in handle at the base which is great to use when walking near the street, people, etc so you can maintain close control of your dog.

Super lightweight but strong!
I got this leash to match my dogs Ruffwear harness. I am not usually a fan of padded handles on leashes. I prefer for the leash to be as small and light as possible and hate bulk. However this leash is the exception for me. It is SO incredibly lightweight that the fact it has a padded handle doesn’t bother me at all. I think it was a great edition just to weigh the leash down a bit and gives a good grip on the leash. I really love the additional handle at the bottom of the leash. Great for reactive dogs or dogs that may need an immediate redirection from something. The locking mechanism on the hardware is cool. I appreciate that they used more of a carabiner thing for the leash as opposed to a normal hook. Due to the way the ruffwear harness is designed, the D ring can sometimes cause a regular hook style leash to come undone in the middle of the walk. With the locking carabiner, it’s now impossible. Overall I’m really liking this leash. Ruffwear is great all around

Once it starts fraying, doesn't last long
Bought this leash three months ago for my 6 month old Beagle puppy. He is now 9 months, 25 lbs. I returned the 1st one as it immediately started fraying. This leash started fraying after about two months, my beagle likes to give himself 'walks' when we get ready to go out the door and I suspect it can only withstand a minimal amount of chewing before it starts to become undone. I would not say the padding is sufficient if your dog pulls any amount, I found it insufficient to be comfortable for a hike, etc.

Have the matching set in three colours!
This is my go-to for walking my 5 month old Golden that is pretty rambunctious and likes to pull. It's a sturdy leash and matches well to the collars from this line. The length gives me good control, and the padded handle saves my hands when she pulls. One of my favourite Ruffwear lines (and I have quite a few of them). I do wish it also came in a longer option, but I have other leashes for that, anyway. The clip is very sturdy and has an extra lock feature that gives me reassurance it won't accidentally snap open like the standard clip designs. Spring Fade is a nice mellow and unusual colour-way (not too bright). I also have it in Aurora Teal and the Canyon Red (both more saturated colours, but not bright or garish). I really wish it came in pink though... maybe one day.

Light, strong leash
Light but strong. Feels great in your hand. The clasp is easy to put on and doesn’t let go. Ruffwear is a great brand for dogs
