Overall, I really like these golf shoes - my first pair from SQAIRZ after hearing people rave about them for years. And from my early impressions, all those rave reviews were right on!First off, I will say I'm decided an amateur golfer and not necessarily a good one at that - for me, it's a fun way to get outside and be active and social. But that doesn't mean I'm not looking to improve my game as I still want to get better and lower my scores. These shoes seem like they're on track to help me do just that while remaining comfortable (and keeping my feet dry). The SQAIRZ Velo series features the typical SQAIRZ shape with a nice, wide stable heel and a much wider toe box that both increases comfort AND increases stability (because you can spread your feet out inside the shoe). These features, combined with the traditional "soft spike" layout of the sole of the shoe really do allow me to get a good "grip" on the ground which allows me to swing with more confidence than my normal shoes / without fear of slipping. While I wasn't measuring super accurately, this likely did increase the distance I was hitting but more importantly it helped with accuracy because I wasn't slipping as I sometimes do in my other shoes.So the shoes DO help with making better shots because they help you connect better to the ground and hit the ball more confidently/consistently (I suppose they also likely help you better transfer the power from the ground into the swing which is important). They're also very comfortable - a word of warning though that these are still "traditional" golf shoes and require a break in period as they're stiffer than the "spikeless" shoes that have become popular in recent times (and are really just sneakers in golf styles with some nubs on the soles). Once broken in, I've found the Sqairz to be very comfortable and easy to walk in.The styling is fine - it's mostly a standard golf shoe style though the pattern has been slightly modernized. I do like the laces - they've adopted laces with a texture to them (almost like the laces you would use for ice skates) that really do help keep the shoes tied better through the round without having to double knot them.So that's about that - these Sqairz shoes are a modern take on a traditionally styled spiked golf shoes that combines solid comfort with great balance and really do help with confidence in your swing / shots. The Sqairz golf shoes were ordered for use when playing golf.I had heard of the Sqairz golf shoes within the past couple of years. One of my friends with whom I play golf bought a pair and liked them. I wear a size 13 D (medium) shoe size in all of my shoes. After receiving the golf shoes they were tried on and they felt loose across the top of the shoe above the toes.This past week I played 2 rounds of golf with them, and frankly enjoyed using them. During the 1st round, I wore a pair of thick-ish athletic socks with the shoes. There still seemed to be extra material across the top of the shoes. The shoes were not necessarily loose, but I could sense the extra material. The shoes provided really good traction when walking, and they certainly stabilized my stance and swing.The product description indicates the shoes were "independently proven to add 12+ yards in distance and increase swing speed, through improved balance, stability, and ground connection". I did not notice any substantial increase in distance. However, the shoes certainly added stability and ground connection, and it was more noticeable than a couple of other pairs of shoes I own.During the second round of golf, I wore a pair of much thicker hiking socks (it was a cool day), and the comfort was much better than the 1st day. The stability and ground connection was much the same as the 1st day. I don't know if the shoes made a difference in the my scores, but I shot a 76 and 85 during those 2 rounds. I cannot blame an 85 on the shoes since my putting stroke was almost non-existent.BOTTOM LINE: The shoes are great golf shoes. They provide better than adequate traction and ground connection, and are much better golf shoes than some other pairs of golf that I own. The shoes are very comfortable and my feet did not feel excessively tired after either round of golf. The shoes are somewhat "top of the line" golf shoes and as such the price is somewhat expensive. All things considered, I would order them again.
