Great book, quick read and nicely packaged.

Although this is called 'Devil May Cry 3' it isn't entirerly based on the popular Playstation 2 game that got released a few years ago, this follows Dante as he accepts a job to rescue a girl, but it still has a lot of similarities (like Dantes cocky attitude) and his Demon-Father Sparda is mentioned on more than one occasion. Also, there is breif appearences from Arkham, and Dante's twin brother Vergil. This has everything you'd expect when you see 'Devil May Cry' in the title: kick ass action scenes, a great storyline, and its great to see how Devil May Cry would be in manga-stlye. The artist is brilliant, and it has a storyline that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

This was one of the first manga books i bought, I did the same as most people and saw DMC and thought "ooo i wonder whats thats like" and having read it almost straight away, i was blown away, doesn't follow the game too much (which is good, coz i got the game, dont want to read it as well) It has a fantastic take on the Alice In Wonderland story.again, a highly recommended read from me

Well, I'm a big fan of DMC, so I really liked the idea of a manga. I do not own any other mangas yet, but I quite enjoyed reading this one. The story (as far as I can tell) is set before DMC3, and almost fits in with the story of the game (I'm not sure some of the content is the same as the opinions of Capcom, such as Enzo, Dante's 'manager'.The story firstly explains the beginning of the world, with a brief description of the events with Sparda, and the Demon/Human worlds. Then, it focuses on Dante, who is put on a mysterious job to rescue a girl from a strange house. Vergil and Arkham have appearances, but mainly in the all too familiar library from DMC3:SE.The story is fairly short to read (I read fast, and it took me about an hour), and the story isn't brilliant, but the artwork is pretty amazing, featuring some cool DMC style scenes.If you like DMC and you want a little backstory, a short story, and some cool artwork, this is pretty good. If you want detailed backstory that you can read again and again, its probably not your kind of thing.

レビューがあんまりひどいので別角度から。英語版を読むと日本語版であいまいな部分が解決することがあります。また日本語をまるで置き換えのように忠実に訳す必要は全くない。それは　駄訳。　いわんとすること、趣旨は全く同じ。英語と日本語の表現法のちがいがあるわけで、むしろ、英語を喋るダンテなら英語版のほうがノリがいい。最近の日本のおおかたのファンタジーに共通するけれど、なぜあんなに小難しい古語、文語を使うのか。その世界観をだそうとするのに、あまりにも漢字やことばの「イメージ」に頼りすぎているように思います。これはアホの暴走族やらが適当に薔薇だとか夜だとか苦とかそれっぽい漢字を並べるのと、さほどレベルは変わらない。それよりももっとキレイな日本語を読み、知るべきさて、英語版デビル。そのもやに包まれたような日本語版よりもすっきりおもしろいです。英語、そんなに難しくないです。肝心の絵。かっこいいですよ！ダンテ。バージルはちょっとおっさんくさい・・・ゲームの1.2.3.4、小説、コミック、アニメどれが本物？ってくらいそれぞれに個性があるんだけど、わたしは3がおきにいり。キャラの統一にこだわるなら、これは論外なのでしょうが、表面上の違いを見るのも、やっぱり共通して彼の内面にある哀しさを感じることも、どちらも楽しんでいます。ぜひ日本語版と並べて「なあるほど」とかいいながらご覧になることを望みます

Das erste Mal habe ich von dem Manga auf der amerikanischen Seite von Tokyo Pop erfahren und den Mangaviewer (Flashfilm) angeklickt, um mir eine Leseprobe anzeigen zu lassen. Der Zeichenstil hat mich positiv überrascht - es war genau mein Geschmack. Gut ausgeführt, dynamisch und ein wenig frech, genau wie das Videospiel, harte Tuschekontraste und guter Lesefluss.Sicherlich ist der Manga vor allem für die Fans der Videospielserie "Devil May Cry" interessant, aber ich denke auch Nichtspieler sollten sich den Manga mal *reinziehen* - wenn sie auf harte Action stehen.Darum geht es:Dante ist neu in der Stadt und wohnt seit kurzem in seiner aus dem Videospiel "Devil May Cry 3" bekannten Bude. Ab hier weicht der Manga vom Spiel ab: Sein Partner Enzo vermittelt ihm die Aufträge und so erhält Dante den Auftrag ein Mädchen namens Alice zu finden und zu befreien. Nicht zufällig erinnert die Figur an Alice im Wunderland, denn Dante trifft auf Figuren aus der Geschichte - Madhatter, der Hase und nimmt an einer "Tea-Party" teil. Auch Vergil, der Zwillingsbruder von Dante mischt mit und wer das Spiel selber gespielt hat, der dürfte sich auch auf das erste Treffen der beiden ungleichen Brüder freuen.Ein gelungener Auftakt zu einem actiongeladen "Doujinshi" (Fan-Comic) zu "Devil May Cry 3".

The package arrived a day late and the book was more damaged tthan expected. The first 10 pages and the cover had absorb water at some point so they are wavy.
