A Lot of Bang for your Buck
Bought this for use on our day charter powerboat as our Chartplotter had stopped working ($2500 to replace compared to $280 for this tablet) and also as a portable backup for ocean yacht deliveries that we do.Runs navionics with wifi ais input. Also bluetooths in the Garmin in reach satellite comms with nav software. The 2 tb sd card(not included)has my entire music library and chart catalouge for the Canada USA South America on. Also plenty of room for a good number of movies to alleviate the boredom of offshore life. With a sim card and data I even take credit card payments on this when we do day charters.Shockproof, waterproof suited to a heavy marine environment.Sometimes forget to take it off the boat during washdown with no ill effects. The device is heavy in comparison to normal tablets but the rugged nature of the tablet outweighs the weight issue.A bonus to the weight and rubberized casing means you can put it down on a rolling boat and it stays there. Lighter tablets would become an airborne FrisbeeMy last regular tablet bent during packing my delivery bag and shipping it home. Totally my fault and beyond the abuse that would be put on a device used in urban settings. But the reality is that I operate outside and offshore in places I shouldn't tell my mother about so a device of this strength will cope with not only a rough environment but also an owner who doesn't always have the time to treat the device gently.Haven't run over it with my truck yet but it's surprising how many times that's happened out in the boonies. I'm thinking it would take the hit well. The hand strap is strong and secure. I am convinced that with the strap it could double as a shield in hand to hand combat.Screen is bright enough under shade of a bimini and for extra battery life you can take it down to lowest brightness setting for use at night.Did notice that it is best viewed direct, viewing the device from the side does make the screen darker. But not dark enough to be a big issueThe touch screen is sensitive enough to use but does not react to heavy rain hitting the screen and activating functions. My device is mounted in a flush metal bracket on the console and sits well when heading into 20 - 25 knt headwinds and heavy seasEven with a music player running in the background the memory intensive navigation program runs without any glitches that I have experienced on the normal 8gb ram tablets.Battery life lasts a full day on max brightness and full program use and from 8am to 5pm it has not gone below 60% battery. On my other "normal" tablet the battery would only last 6 hrs max using these same programs then shut down. Not usefull when you are tracking ships at 3am off Norfolk VA.It will top up the battery from that level with a fast charger in about an hour. For the price to utility comparison, I bought it as a disposable item to try out. I am very happy with it ad it will be used every day.Added an aluminum folding stand for TV mode viewing. Below decks or in the bunk which makes it very practical to use pretty much everywhere.Next project is to strap it to my DJ mavik drone control for max visibility and control.Overall very happy with this product after 1 month continuous use

Wow!
This is by far the sturdiest tablet I've ever purchased. I tend to occasionally drop my tablets, but the casing on this one should keep it working just fine. I'm a heavy tablet user throughout the day pretty much every day. It's fast. Runs smooth. So far does not heat up when I play a graphics-intensive game. It came with the handle included in the box, screws for that already in the slots plus 4 extra screws and a rather nice screwdriver with a slightly curved pry type edge. Very nicely packaged as well. Spare screen cover included. It was very easy to do the data transfer from my other tablet. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this purchase. I got a nice discount by purchasing on Black Friday. Seems to be a solidly put together tablet with great graphics and plenty of power. A+If I have any issues with it over time, after reaching out to their customer support, I'll come here and update the review.

An awesome purchase. Couldn't be happier!
Hello, I've had this tablet in my hands for roughly about two weeks and I have to say…I'm impressed. So I really didn't know what to expect with the R9 Pro Tablet but I have been pleasantly surprised with how well it performs. So much so, that I felt I must say something about it to help others. Truly a well done tablet. To begin, it comes with Android 14 installed which is wild considering the price of this tablet. You get up to 20 GB of ram and 256 GB of on device storage along with a micro sd slot which can expand to 2 TB. The battery is next level as I truly never have to charge this thing. You have an IP69K waterproof rating as well. Beyond that, you get a 64 megapixel camera as well. The specs in the R9 Pro are truly great for what you are paying. Those are just some of the highlights, but there is so much more.To start, the build is really something great. Now, this is a very heavy tablet, meant to be in rugged environments. I haven't tried, but I'm quite positive I could drop this thing from my roof and nothing would happen to it. Besides cracking my concrete. You will see when it is in your hands, there's nothing cheap feeling about the R9 Pro. It's also a very large device with a nice aspect ratio for taking in videos and social media content. I like using it both ways. Now, in the packaging Hotwav adds in a strap which can be fitted to the tablet and really helps using it. I suggest putting that on. Honestly, the build is amazing. Much better than some tablets I have spent quite a bit more money on. I should also add that the display is actually very crisp. I was expecting a cheap screen, but man was I wrong. Its colors pop, no pixelated lines. Very vivid in my opinion. One thing which I wanted to find out first is how fluid the usability is. How the UI is on this tablet, how easily it runs from screen to screen. I honestly don't see many hiccups, at all. The only slightly non-smooth moment is when I go to bring up all the open apps. When I do that it ain't as smooth. Everything else is perfect. I could have 20 apps open at the same time and the R9 Pro never gives me an issue. I really mean that. It is as fluid as it gets for this price. And trust me, I've tried many of the less expensive tablets and the R9 Pro blows them out of the water. Screen to screen, app to app, and cycling through the settings is very intuitive. Just like any Android device. You obviously have the entire Google Playstore at your disposal as well and all apps have run perfectly thus far. If any apps don't work, then Google will tell you.All games perform perfectly, no glitching, no frame stops. It didn't matter what game I put on this thing it performed well. That processor is a solid one which can take on multiple apps while a game is being played. First person shooters, casual gaming, racing games, they all work as they should. This was important to me. Videos all worked as they should as well. Honestly, as far as how well the R9 Pro performs, I couldn't be happier.I had to review this thing because I feel it is actually a very solid product. I have kids and they absolutely love it and use it all the time and it was important for me to give them something which actually works as it's supposed to. I mean, in the end that's what we want. I use it for watching videos, Netflix, and I adore reading Amazon books on the R9 Pro. I love the seamless performance. In truth, I feel like I got such a bargain. You just get so many features for a fraction of the cost of other tablets. I'm definitely a Hotwav fan from here-on-out. Anyways, I definitely recommend that you check out the R9 Pro. I feel it's worth every penny that they are asking for it.

Tablet is heavy
This is a heavy, thick, robust tablet. I like it, I'm a big man with big hands and I can hold on to this tablet without worrying about dropping it, the only this i don't care for is you can't set the sensitivity of the screen, it came with a thick screen protector and it's difficult to work the screen at times

Solid tablet
Solid tablet with great battery life. Received the tablet on 12/27 and charged it to 100%. With moderate to light use, still over 67% battery left 3 weeks later. Great resolution for charts while being used on the water for navigation. All great features: looks, feel, rugged, light, size, quality. Good purchase, no regrets.
