Not properly made, but I can make it work
It does pump water, so that part is good. The threads don't match on the bung hole where it is supposed to plug in, and the hole where the bolt is supposed go in to hold the handle in place is unfinished: not deep enough and unthreaded.

Good option
Great pump. I got it for pumping water out of a barrel if my well goes out. May even use it for camping as it’s light and compact.

Game changer for rainwater-harvest!
We live in a semi-arid area of the country. This year, there was no “semi-arid” about it—we were in drought. The drought evolved from “severe” to “extreme” designation by the end of the summer. As such, we try to harvest rainwater whenever possible from the rain gutters, using plastic 55 gallon drums. We use the water for various outdoor purposes (think garden, chickens, etc.)Catching the water is easy—we just put the barrels under the downspouts. But then using the water is at times inconvenient: Accessing the water has required dipping into the barrels or at one time we tried installing a faucet at the bottom of the barrels, but it was difficult to get some of our pails and watering cans under the faucet because of the height at which we had to position the barrels. This rotary pump is a game-changer. We leave a piece of ¼ inch grid hardware cloth on top of the barrels to protect from debris (or animals) falling in. When we are ready to use the water, we quickly switch from the hardware cloth to the barrel lid with the access hole. Then we just place the pipe through that access hole. It takes a few turns to prime the pump, but then each turn pushes out almost a quart of water at a time. You can easily fill up a watering can in less than a minute. We can also switch quickly from one barrel to another under a different downspout.Because the entire mechanism (except for the hardware) is polypropylene, rusting will not be an issue.I cannot answer questions about other fluids such as oils, as we are only using this for water.

tints your product blue after a bit
I use this for mineral spirits out of a drum and at first it worked great, now it tints the mineral spirits blue. I can't really have that when working in a cabinet finishing shop..... Don't get this, get clear plastic ones or metal

It's here to pump you up!
This barrel pump is great for what I need it to do. I'm using it to fill my UTV sprayer with road de-icer from 55 gallon drums. I have gone thru two harbor freight pumps that are all cast metal, and usually last one storm unless I flush it out. This thing is all plastic so it has not been effected by the liquid, and has been outside since the first use. It still works without any issues. It is light (compared to the metal ones) but still stout. For water like consistency liquids it worked great. I had a minor threading issue on one section as one would expect with plastic threads, but some Teflon tape and back in business.
