The astronaut is cute and very sturdy. There are no moving parts on the body. The head is detachable, although it is attached to the body by the power cord. When you replace the head, it is held in place by a good magnet. The head can be rotated 360° so you can aim it wherever you want. It has a wide range for the design to show. Because of the magnet, the head will remain in the position that you place it in. He can light up a whole room.It features 27 lighting effects and twinkling green stars that can remain static or fade in and out. It works from a USB cord which must be connected to an electrical source. There is an easy-to-use remote, which needs 2 AAA batteriesThere are backup buttons on the back of the astronaut. There is a timer for 3 different intervals which is really nice for bedtime. (1 hr, 2 hr and 4 hr)This would make a really nice gift for anyone, not necessarily just for kids.

When I unpackaged this light I was a little confused that the head of the projector wasn't fully attached to the body of the astronaut, but I quickly realized it is purposeful so that you can adjust the light to whatever angle you want it to. I have a fairly large bedroom and was impressed that the projector completely covered the ceiling of my room. The galaxy portion of the projector has movement to it and you can adjust colors and whether the stars show or not. It comes with a remote to adjust settings but also has buttons directly on the astronaut to adjust it as well. It is plugged in with a USB-C to USB plug. Overall I am impressed with this nightlight projector and it's quality!
