Exo Terra Repti-Glo 2.0 Compact Fluorescent Full Spectrum Terrarium Lamp, 26-Watt (Natural Light)

I specifically purchased the 26W bulb because the description and the image both state that it emits UVB ("The most important feature of a Repti-Glo fluorescent bulb is its ability to emit UVB light.") I just received it today and the package says "Natural Light (former Repti Glo 2.0 Compact)" like it does in the pictures of the box. However, the bulb itself does not say UVB anymore and the chart on the back of the box says: UVB = 0. This product is no longer "Repti-Glo" at all, it is now "Natural Light." I am sending it back and I hope this saves someone else the trouble of returning it, too.

I use this bulb for my crested gecko's bioactive tank and this is my second one so far (I replace them every 6 months). I would recommend this to anyone looking to benefit their crested gecko's health and keeping a bioactive tank. I also paired this bulb with the 5.0, but this bulb provides the most light for the tank and benefits my plants the most. I like that it gives off a clean white light instead of a yellow color like the 5.0 and I have always had successful and bountiful growth with all of my plants using this bulb. It also doesn't heat up too much so I don't have to worry about my crested gecko overheating or burning himself on the screen of the tank.

I've had these bulbs for a year with my crested geckos and they still seem fine, probably going to change them out soon since most people say to after 6 months. Provide a good amount of light for the plants in the tanks and just a little bit of heat directly beneath them, my geckos learned the schedule and will come out right after I turn them off for the night (the pic is the one time I had the light on when one was out).

The bulbs themselves are fantastic.They do have a warm up time so do not worry when you turn them on and they are very dull.Takes 2-5 minutes.Now,the shipping on the other hand.......I bought two 26 watt bulbs.They arrived in an envelope.That is no way to ship these fragile and dangerous if broken, bulbs.Would recommend to the seller to use a box with atleast some form of protection.Not only for the bulbs but for Amazon drivers and customers.These bulbs are hazardous and toxic if broken.

Great for bioactive terrarium, everything is thriving. My gargoyle gecko also likes to lounge under this light. Does not produce excessive heat and allows the terrarium temperature and humidity to stay within the desired range. Thanks!

In all fairness, I must give this light 4 starts as it is, and does, what it says it does. It is very "naturalistic"...... It's a yellowish , "washed out" and resembles the daylight in my backyard closely. If that's what you're looking for, this is the light for you.With that said , This light is useless for me. Somehow, I missed the "natural" in the description and when I put it in my hood with the other, I noticed it was only about half as bright and yellowish in color as opposed to the bright / white that I need for my live plants. At least I CAN still use it in one of my other terrariums that has fake plants in it.

The 25w was a bit too strong for my 12x12x18 tank for my gecko. No good during hot days because it warmed the tank up quite a bit and killed the humidity. Now that I’ve upgraded to a 18x18x24 I think it’s much more suitable, but still kills humidity (although likely because I had to switch to paper towel substrate). I’m sure once I switch back to coco fiber it’ll be perfect.

Bought two of these for a frog terrarium, and one arrived broken. So 50% of what I purchased was totally useless. Unfortunately this is not the first time I have had issues with this brand of light bulb, I have consistently had issues with Exo Terra bulbs burning out within weeks, if they even work at all. Very disappointing.

Das ist nun schon die Zweite die ich verbaut habe, die Erste hat fast 3 Jahre gehalten und leuchtet auch noch, nur eben nicht mehr so doll.Ich benutzte sie hauptsächlich in meinem (etwas überdimensionierten) Hammerschlagreflektor um die etwas 'anspruchsvolleren' Pflänzchen, hauptsächlich Sukkulenten und Kakteen, aufzuziehen.Selbst bei etwas größerem Abstand zur Brine reicht die Leistung aus um 'Sonnenanbeter' zu versorgen.Als zusätzliche Beleuchtung für den Winter schätze ich sie als ein wenig zu doll ein.Würde sie jederzeit wieder für diesen Zweck kaufen.
