Love the message and a super fun read!
We had this book brought for our 3 year old son for his birthday and we love it so much we buy it as birthday gifts for his friends. It's great fun to read as you can do different voices for each animal ( not to toot my own horn but I nail the snooty panda voice). My son thinks the monkeys throwing poo are just hysterical and yet he seems genuinely concerned for the platypus when the other animals have made him sad. It's got a really lovely message that encourages acceptance and kindness of others, even if they seem different. It's one of the first books my son really seemed to understand the sentimental message behind the fun words and lovely pictures.Wins all round... makes bedtimes a lot of fun!

This zoo is ok, but the bear on the chair was better!
A tale about a platypus arriving at a zoo and meeting a range of animals. It rhymes, has the hook "this zoo is not for you", and even has monkeys throwing pop. Ideal for small children, and gives parents the chance to do a range of voices for the different animals, but doesn't have quite the same appeal as the authors previous book with similar illustrations, There's a Bear On My Chair. Not quite sure why, but possibly the motivation of the characters in this one is less clear, and they are definitely less easy to empathize with. Still, small child enjoys it, and it is good to get a break from Peppa Pig books at bedtime!

Great pucturs
A little too simple for my granddaughter at 3 but she seemed to like it

Disappointing
Very disappointed. Didn't like the pictures. Not enough detail for such large pages.

My little one loved this book - and we loved reading it with him
My one year old loved this book! He loves hearing the fun rhyme and looking at the pictures - panda became one of his first words. I enjoyed reading it over and over as the rhyme is so playful that we often just recite it on it's own in a variety of ways. We need more books with rhymes like this for toddlers (and parents). Thanks Ross!

Very funny, good verse, brilliantly illustrated.
This is a very original story that my granddaughter and family love. Lovely illustrations and verse. There is the chance to voice the different animals and a whacky ending what's not to like? This is my favourite of Ross Collins' books.
