Awesome little food scale
I have had one of these for years and it has worked well. The dial to move the needle broke but you can still use it you just have to subtract the numbers from where the needle stays, but I just decided to get another one. The only thing I miss is the snap on lid. It really makes no sense to not have it. The unit stores in the measuring box and the lid would snap on and keep everything together. It was great when you store it in the cupboard don't have to worry about the unit falling/popping out and if you ever need to take it with you it's portable and self-contained with the great snap on lid. Don't know why they decided to not to include the lid anymore but I am sad about that. Anyway, kept my old lid it didn't fit on the new box so I am using the old box so I can still use the lid. It's a great little scale for a great price. I bought another one for back up. Hope they bring back the lid. Highly recommend. UPDATE: I just realized that the older box, even though the snap on lid fits, the new measuring box doesn't fit on the square for measuring so if I want to use the lid from the previous unit I have to tape it on, so sad but at least I have the lid to protect the unit.

Easy to use...
I bought this one for our camper. It's lightweight and easy to use.

Compact
This is my second scale after the spring gave out. It had moderate use over several years. I love the compactness - easy storage in a kitchen drawer and accurate enough for my needs. My only gripe is there is no snap on lid on this new version. Keeps the unit from springing out of its box. Fortunately I saved the old and am using the lid for that.

Does its job accurately, cheaply and no maintenance
I bought this scale because the reviews were high and I was not disappointed. If all you need is to weigh something, it does everything a battery powered scale does and as fast as scales costing > 4x more, and with nearly no maintenance. The main disadvantage is if you like to tare your recipes: you can't just keep adding ingredients and zero out the scale, then add more. You'll have to manually add the extra weight or empty the bowl after each load. Given how small the container is, tare really won't make sense making even meals for individuals. Note scales of these types can last forever; I have a cheapie spring postage scale that is almost 20 years old and working, that cost me $1 back then.ProsAccurate to 1 gm, minimum resolutionEasy to cleanFast respondingLarge easy to read digits, in gm and ozPlastic bowl doubles as the scale's caseBowl is dishwasher safeCompact size, about as tall as a coke can, and 1.5x thickerConsThe plastic is fairly thin and cheapie feeling. This scale may not take a hard drop and survive.White color is easy to dirty. This scale is nearly, or probably, identical to a similar scale sold by Sears and by Salter at the very least.

Great scale for measuring ounces
I have never ordered a scale before, so I didn't realize that I needed to be specific that it measured ounces. So first I ordered a scale that would weigh up to 11 pounds, but the read-out was not in ounces, it was in pounds. I only needed to measure out 4 ounces for an ingredient in my dog's food. I sent that one back and ordered another which was even worse. It weighed up to a total weight of 22 pounds. Finally, after realizing what I was doing wrong, I found this one that measures in ounces with a total weight measurement of 1 pound. The ounce measurements are very clearly marked. It's just what I needed for a very reasonable price.

Does not stay zeroed
Constantly have to re calibrate/ re zero. After every single thing I put in here I have to put it back on zero because it alters the weight so I really don’t even feel like I’m weighing anything appropriately. Sometimes it stays on zero but usually not and I’m weighing flour and water to the note of 25 g so I’m not using a heavyweight to disrupt it - I’m just trying to make sourdough starter🤣

No need to improve on this old school scale!
No batteries! Doesn't contribute to counterspace clutter. Neat and compact to store away in the cabinet and serves it's purpose just fine!

Great for the price!
This really is a great little scale for the price. Very durable, with accurate measurements that are easy to read. The weighing container has a lid that easily converts to storage for food, or for the scale itself! It does have to be calibrated by hand, but there is a small black nob on the top that you can turn to do this. (Just put the container with/without lid on the scale, and turn the nob until the dial goes to zero). Easy! Great product!
