Great concept, poor execution
The concept is great but the execution is poor.1- The (our?) magnetic plate is overly bended, which prevents the "Kinoptic" to properly function.2- The two kinoptic sheets are too small to allow the kid to "animate" a robot covering the full height of the magnetic plate.3- There is not enough variety in the design of the robot's parts. Our kids played with this for a 5 min (they really laughed) and then they went back to their Legos. Therefore, IMHO, the play value is rather low compared to the cost.

The media could not be loaded. This toy is so different and simply genius. My kids are super excited and fascinated that they can create and bring to life fun little robots. It's more than a puzzle, this toy will boost your kid's imagination and creativity. I got an extra box as a gift for a friend and bought all 4 sets from these series for my kids.

Old-fashioned fun!
This is a fabulous toy. It uses no batteries or electronics of any kind, yet it has moving pictures. It uses a phenomenon that kids can understand, unlike the insides of all their electronic toys. It is obvious that the black stripes moving over the pictures causes an optical illusion making you think you see motion. Each piece has been designed to show a different type of movement, such as wheels going around, things going back and forth, wave motions, blinking, etc. The kids can arrange the pieces, then move the striped plastic sheet over them.I plan to use these as part of my traveling mini-science museum, as it make a great table-top exhibit. I like the robots better than the weird monster version, but that's me.

bent, scratch and dirty pieces
Received the package today, almost all pieces are bent, including the base board. Some pieces have scratches, kind of dirty, would like to have a replacement cos it is still a fun toy.
