I'm writing this on Halloween because this thing has been a nightmare
I want to start by saying I have been building computers since the mid 90's when I had to sit in front of a new motherboard/CPU for hours getting the pin outs just right for processor/memory voltages and speeds... even built and sold custom gaming machines as a side gig for quite a while... so easily hundreds of custom systems over the years. I wanted to get this up as soon as possible to try and save other people from this thing that I am returning as soon as possible as being defective.First the good things: it looks cool.I'm listing the issues in the order in which I encountered them while wondering if this was even even tested or QA'd before they started selling it.1) Irritating conflict between iGPU and dGPU, so the moment you attempt to install dGPU drivers it locks up and you get to reinstall Window since you'll get no display again until you do. This was fixed in a BIOS update but still super irritating.2) There are no drivers included in Windows so you have to install Windows hardwired into Ethernet and then download AsusDriverHub and then keep that bit of "wonderful" software since none of these MediaTek third party components (among others) are included in Windows Update.3) The Bluetooth doesn't work. At all. Even after the driver install it looks like it but it won't detect or find any devices. I tried keyboards, mice, microphones. Would not detect any of them. Luckily I had another USB Bluetooth adapter I could use which worked right away, but I shouldn't have to. It's 2024, drivers should not be an issue and I shouldn't be having to search the internet on shady websites trying to find updated drivers since the drivers don't seem to be available from MediaTek and the included ones don't work.4) I have 2 video cards and 5 monitors - an nVidia and a Radeon. If I plug more than 2 monitors any any of them the system locks up. So I have to use 2 in each adapter and then 1 on the integrated GPU. This is just ridiculous. These are the same adapters/monitors I was using in my previous that worked flawlessly for years.5) If I plug in too many USB devices it disconnects them all. Seriously. And to get the system to see the USB devices again, it's not just a simple turn off/on. I have to completely disconnect power for a few seconds, plug it back in, and then boot back up and make sure I don't make the mistake of plugging in one too many USB devices. Silly me.6) The aRGB headers don't appear to work even though enabled, still working on that one. I am not sure I will find that solution before this thing goes back. The hardware itself may be fine, but the firmware is obviously very buggy and really don't like the flaky MediaTek chipset and horrible driver support for it.
