Colour Making Using Dyes & Pigments (New Horizons) /anglais

Bought this for a class only to find out I got the wrong IBSN. I still like the book and it is an interesting read.

This is an excellent book, packed with fascinating information and loads of illustrations. Modern people take colour for granted, and it was eye-opening to discover how difficult it is for man to replicate nature's rich display. My only criticism is that while the book contains a huge amount of information about the development of colour technologies through the ages, it is rather light on details of the incredible developments in the past 50 to 100 years.

I was rather disappointed because I was expecting it to be about what the title says: MAking and using pigments. Instead it really is an historical account of pigments. If that is interesting then I'm sure the book is fine.

A little smaller than I thought it would be. definitely pocket-sized. lots of lovely pictures and info about different colours for painting and dyeing and the history of it all so it is really useful for my research.

Well presented, little book, either to read through or pick up and put down again. Great for children learning about art as well as adults. Beautiful photos that are .....very bright and colourful. Well worth having and pick it up on a dull cloudy day...it will make the sun come out right in front of you.
