I put about 7 eggs in this strainer and put the basket in my larger pot and boil them all together and just take them all out together when they are done. It keeps from breaking eggs when placing them in the boiling water and accidentally cracking one.

I ordered this to fry french fries, chimichangas, etc. While I do eat healthy, nothing beats food that is meant to be fried (on occasion)! I have been using a slotted spoon for years and I started wondering why I was doing that as it's somewhat tedious and time consuming over a hot pot. I ordered this basket because it fits perfectly in a pot that I use for frying. The handles are nice and long which makes it easy to remove the basket. There are also feet on the basket which makes this basket perfect for steaming veggies as well! I like it when I order something has has more than one use!
