Dark Blue: The Complete Second Season

I am surprised to see that this series only lasted two seasons. The effort taken to portray how some aspects of undercover operators think and function was not only entertaining but fairly realistic. The concept and practice in drama series' of developing the individual characters is in my view problematic and ends up being the moment when lack of realism is sacrificed by writers to satisfy the expected prurient interests of the viewers. In other words, all the romantic involvements distract from focusing on more key details that cannot be added in to 45 minute episodes because we have to go all kissy-face! The other factor which I found displeasing was the all to common mission creep to include a federal agency. I worked and retired from LAPD and see through the train wreck clash of egos that do not share same/similar operational mindsets. The actors portrayal of their characters was outstanding, realistic and intense; the absolute best and most riveting aspects for each episode.

Good movie

I'm a big fan of Dylan McDermott and I absolutely loved Dark Blue!! Sad it was axed after only playing for 2 seasons :( At least the second (and final) season wraps it all up neatly.. nothing worse than a cliffhanger with no closure. Hopefully Dylan and Maggie Q's new drama Stalker goes the distance.

Received DVD is a very timely manner. No problems with the dvd. Glad to have the second season after owning the first season for quite sometime now. hated when TNT cancelled this show. It was different and had some very good characters and well written. Wish they would have tried selling it to another network. I would recommend the seller to anyone. very happy

Nice series! A masterpiece

Loving it so far, it seems the crew is more a team and more happy compared to the first episode.

I love Dark Blue. It kept me captivated wanting more.

I'm a big fan of undercover cop shows - The Beast, Sleeper Cell etc., and a big fan of Dylan McDermott from The Practice so I loved this show when it came on in the UK and went out of my way to find it among so many other DVD box sets once it had been cancelled.It has a gritty edge not found in many of the lame procedurals that have been on forever and has a very smart way of making you feel like your in on the case with the characters each week so this has quickly became my favourite show ever...I highly recommend anyone after a smart, fast paced cop show that doesn't dumb down the action or shoehorn in unnecessary schmaltz, to check out Dark Blue seasons 1 and 2 immediately....:)

dark is the operative word. really suspenseful. very happy that someone actually makes these oldies available
