I have been using these strippers frequently to convert Florescent light fixtures to LED. The only issue I run into with these wire strippers is when the insulation on the small wires has been heated and becomes hard. Neither these or more expensive strippers work well in that situation. The wire strippers seem sharp, and I like the spring mechanism. The contour handles are a plus as well. The only thing I might improve on are the pliers on the tip. Maybe if they were slightly contoured it would help twisting wires. Otherwise I am happy with this purchase and would buy them again.

First one I bought had unaligned jaws; I had to push the jaws sideways to close them. However, the company send me a replacement which works great. I am happy with the performance for the price. I only need them a few times a year for spiker wires. So I am not sure how they will handle if you are stripping wires every day for living.

The ones I had in the past were the ones that came in a set with macanic tools and they worked but it was not easy. Then I got suckered into buying the ones that you push the wire into it and pull the handle and it would stripp the wires. Well if you use a 20 awg wire it just breaks and bends the entire to rendering it useless. Now about The Texton 3797 7-inch. Man thease are great! they are sharp and have a spring that opens then back up unlike the cheaper ones I had used in the pass I installed a 50 amp range and used a number 8 wire to supply the breaker and it was like cutting butter just put it in the right slot nd squeeze down and gently pull and you got your nice clean copper wire ready to work. I doubt I will need a better pair I know I can pay more but why. Thease work like it should. I recomend buying this tool. and others and TEXTON over sees the reviews and will work with you to fix your problems they go far and beyond standard costomer service. So pick it up. You will not be sorry.

Wish I would have bought this years ago

I compared this with my Klein (11055) wire stripper. They look very similar and have the same wire gauge ranges; however, this one is not quite as good as Klein. First off the grip isn't as comfortable. It's not bad though. I like the shape of it, it is more conformed to fit in your hand. This was a great price and cuts and strips wire well. The biggest flaw I see is the locking mechanism. It is a pretty tight lock. I am going to grind or file the lock down a little bit. The spring is also a lesser quality than Klein. Overall this is a pretty good wire stripper for the occasional use. I would invest in Klein for professional use. You can get the same thing fork Klein for under $20.

I'm a hobbyist A/V guy, doing small and infrequent projects in my house. I purchased these and did a few small projects. I wish the pliers at the tip were a little larger. It's easy to apply too much pressure while stripping the cut casing, and that prevents one from stripping as easily as other tools. But that's a very minor concern. The thumb lock feels cheap, but otherwise the construction is solid and tight. The tool has a good heft, just enough. The grip is fine, the spring's tension is just right. The sharpness of the stripper and cutter makes using this tool satisfying. In my experience, the sharpness of the elements and the tension of the spring are the reasons I give these guys a high rating. I found them to be precise and efficient.
