I would call this a waist pack rather than a cross body pack. It's very well made; the zippers are just fine. I love the sections. You could put your phone or a small notepad in the back and of course anything in the other sections. In person it looks like better quality than the photo. the belt itself is wider than some, and as a result more comfortable to wear. I recommend it.
