Pocket Hunting & Fishing Guide: Tips, Tactics, and Must-Have Gear (Pocket Guide)

Good book!

I hate to say it, but I'm fairly disappointed in this book. What I thought would be a fairly contemporary text with some basic knowledge, as well as tips and tricks, seems to be more of a reprint of a book from the 50's or 60's and sometimes even older. It puts me in mind of an old bushcrafting book I have. I like the "feel" of it in that regard, but that is about all I liked about the book. Simply put, it feels like there isn't enough information for a beginner or someone who has been hunting for years. It kind of falls in between, which left it feeling very boring for me. I also felt that the information is not organized well. Bottom line, I would not recommend this book. I think new hunters would be better served with other resources, and hunters who have been taking game for several years probably already have most of this knowledge at their disposal. Throw and older looking cover on it and call it nostalgic and you probably have a winner for that category, but as a reference/aid for the contemporary hunter, I give this book a pass.
