Priscilla's Kitty Cat Grass Kit - Grow Your Own Grass

I bought this for my mother-in-law’s indoor house cat, Inky – a large, solid black, furry, bob-tail cat. Inky had been a stray. My mother-in-law had her declawed to keep her indoors without clawing all her beautiful quilts and other hand-made crafts. It was clear that Inky lingered for her past out-door life – sitting by windows gazing by the hour and tempting her escape every time a door was opened. But outside was not a safe option in that neighborhood. Having grown this grass for my own cat (who loved it) it occurred to me that we could bring the “out-doors” inside for Inky. My mother-in-law was sceptic but I ordered it anyway. The product came as promised. The grass grew quickly! And Inky loved it! Seemed to be just what Inky had been begging for but my mother-in-law kept it high on a table (it was enough to display). Well, Inky, loving her new grass addiction, jumped to the table top to graze! Lesson learned. Keep the grass of any surface you don’t want the cat to pounce on! The surprise benefit is that it seemed to be a great addition to her diet. Being a long, black haired furry creature, Inky suffered from hair balls. The grass helped her digestion so much that it significantly reduced her hair ball problem! I’d say give it a try! At that price, it’s worth the try if your cat is part of the family! Would I buy it as a gift? I did!*If you find this review helpful, say so! I am updating my review... This is a great product that my cat loves, she started eating it instantly.

I followed the instructions to a T, watered as instructed, etc. but the soil quickly mildewed after the grass grew. And the mildew kept growing and growing.... The instructions also say the grass should last 2-3 weeks with proper care but after a week the grass yellowed out and looked dead.My cat also didn't seem all that interested in it...will not be buying again

The grass grew quickly and my cat enjoyed me sprinkling snipped off pieces into his food. However, like other people have mentioned the soil got moldy in a week or so. I did not overwater, I only used a mist bottle to keep it moist, so that was disappointing. I kept the pot though, so I intend to get my own soil and use the rest of the seeds, as it only needed half the seed packet to cover the surface.

I've grown cat grass in the past and this one is "okay." Most likely will not buy again based on the price. You're better off buying the cat grass seeds on its own, a pot, and soil if your cat truly enjoys it. My cat did not enjoy this brand.

I bought 2 because I have two cats. It was easy to plant and water. I set it near a window and in less than a week my cats were enjoying eating it and rubbing their faces in the grass. I have enough seeds for at least one more planting. One of my cats is 18 years old. She enjoys going outside in the summer and eating grass. I know that it is good for them as is the grass kit . This product certainly does as promised. It was very easy to put it all together and the grass grew VERY quickly - however, my cat will not eat it. I have tried all the tricks. I put it right next to his food bowl, no interest. I put a little catnip in it, no interest. So now I just have a decorative pot of grass. All cats are different so if you have a fussy cat like I do, they may not eat it!

This grass started to mold before my cat could even eat it. I'd say it molded within 3 days of planting... I would really not recommend this product for your animals.
