CREE makes the best LED bulbs.
CREE makes the best-LED bulbs and I found them via CNET and other reputable brand comparisons. My wife is a photographer and was wary of the color issues related to LED bulbs, but she thinks the CREE bulbs and their high CRI make excellent replacements. We replaced all of the lights in our house with various CREE products and after 2 years of use, they are all still running strong. We wanted to have all of the same brand LED bulbs to avoid any color inconsistencies around the home.My only complaint is that CREE bulbs are hard to find on Amazon these days. Many of our CREE bulbs we purchased were in a bulk order from a company that mostly deals with businesses.

Can't be used with Suction cup extenders
I never got the chance to see how the bulb worked in my 17 foot ceiling. To change the bulbs, I have an extension pole that uses a suction cup to hold the bulb, and the face of the bulb is textured for some reason (even if it needs to be textured for the light distribution, why isn't it textured on the inside and smooth on the outside?). This peice of information would be great to put on the website! It may be a fine bulb worth more than 2 stars, but not to me!

Defective
One of the four bulbs did not work. The seller has a 30-day return window* -- but of course we didn't need all four bulbs right away, so we didn't learn that the bulb was defective until after the window had closed. For that reason I do not recommend using this seller and these bulbs. I'm very unsatisfied.*These bulbs are supposed to last 25,000 hours. You would think the return window is longer than 30 days (which is only 720 hours).

Color rendering is good for an LED bulb
The CREE par30L 40 degree 3000K bulb appears to be high quality build; the light is slightly “whiter” than a traditional 75 Watt Halogen (which are generally 2850K-2900K) and at 850 Lumens, not quite as bright as a Halogen. But then again, it is only “using” 10.5 watts. Color rendering is good for an LED bulb, again not as consistent as Halogen (to my eyes, the “red” warmth is missing from the CREE) but as good as other LED bulbs. Dimming works, but as typical for most LED’s the dimming stays the same color, and does not go warmer as traditional Halogen would. Check to make certain your dimmer works with this LED. Be aware there are 25 degree and 40 degree bulbs; these are 40 and a bit wider. Par bulbs are better than BR bulbs for high ceilings as they bring light down, but BR is more of a "flood." Excellent value at $5 a bulb, but not worth paying any premium, as you can find Hyperikon, FEIT and Philips bulbs of equal quality. Made in China. One odd thing: we received different serial numbered bulbs than what the seller is advertising on Amazon. I called CREE about this an they said the bulbs are the same, just that one is for Canadian market and is sold in groups of four. The packaging was in French and English. One the boxes arrived with the contents severely abused; the packaging for each bulb crushed. There was no indication this occurred during shipping. Those bulbs still work fine, but not impressed with a seller that thinks it was ok to ship merchandise in such a crappy condition. Be forewarned.UPDATE: I contacted the seller, they are first rate, promptly responded and I am completely satisfied. You can buy these without any concerns. Added a star to reflect the outstanding seller service.I am real, not a bot, not paid by anyone to post this, just trying to help the community.

Excellent Quality at a Value Price
I'm replacing my Ecosmart LED Par30 bulbs with the Cree bulbs, as the Ecosmart bulbs have been failing too early, too often. I wanted to replace them as they failed, however, so I selected these Cree bulbs to match the old bulbs' color temperature and closely match the output in lumens. Total success! Our son couldn't tell which were which without actually lookup up at the bulbs (the lenses are different). Knowing which bulbs were replaced, I could detect a slight difference in brightness or perhaps light quality, with the Cree bulbs being superior. The real surprise was the quality of the Cree bulbs given the price. Completely unlike the typical lower-priced bulbs. These are a no-brainer to buy. Definitely recommended!
