Age 12+, After initial assembly error, fell on face; redone correctly works perfectly!
While the description says Age 8+, my 9-yr-old grandchild did not have patience for it, as it is very complicated. The box also says age 12+, which sounds about right to me.After initial attempt, it would stand, but immediately fall forward onto face when trying to walk. I disassembled it, and reassembled, but the result was the same.I added weights (taped a bunch of spare screws) to the tail, and now it walks, ... but only backwards. I spent a good amount of time getting the weights "right". Too many screws and it falls backwards. Remove a few and it walks only backwards. Remove a few more, and it walks mostly backwards with a step forward every now and then. Remove more, and it falls on its face, so I added a couple back on, to just barely keep it from falling on its face.My grand-daughter said it "moonwalks". I put a question in to the manufacturer on their Facebook page. Will update if I hear back.[Update] They responded via Facebook page; with photos, they correctly diagnosed my mistake; I was putting the leg link on the rearmost tab, instead of the middle tab. Once corrected, it walks forward and works perfectly without tail weights! Very happy! Changing to 5 stars!

Good product
That’s a good product. I got it for my son, but make sure you put it together and let the little ones do it take your time when you put it together pay attention to the instructions and the feet or the hardest thing to do so pay attention to what you doing And if you set it up somewhere, make sure you turn off the motion detector. We had a surprise at 2 o’clock in the morning altogether good product and why can’t Amazon get more of those dinosaurs from this company? I’d like to buy them because my child likes them I don’t like the other products I only like this company , it’s easy. Instructions are easy to read and you don’t have to take a piece out and it breaks on you and you have to repair it. That’s why I chose this company Amazon give us more products from this company.

Great little challenge for 8 year old
I brought this one because for my 8 year old, even the challenging legos have became bit simple. I initially brought the laser cut trinket box, which is much harder and the pieces were difficult to put together for him. So I ended up making it, and that was a fun project. This set on the other hand is not laser cut, and the pieces are thicker, easier to push together, less likely to break, and a lot more forgiving. As in if you make a mistake, it’s not too hard to go back and correct it.I have done a few of these before, so before handing it to my son, I took a craft knife and traced around most of the pieces. This made it incredibly easy for my son to punch out the parts, and no splinter whatsoever. He manage to do most of the project himself, though he did get trip up on the common mistake, when attaching the leg to the body, make sure you line them up according to the designated numbers in the instruction. He loved the finished product. I think it’s a pretty good puzzle to dip your toes in if you are just starting out.

Problematic balance
Good assembly project, albeit rather tedious for some children. Needs to be for a kid who likes that kind of thing, which is not everyone. The main problem is that when all is finished (strictly following the instruction), the T-Rex tends to fall over when it walks. The included paper shims that are supposed to solve the problem don't seem to help. So in the end it was disappointing.

Great gift for my nephew who loves dinosaurs
I gave this as a gift to my nephew, and he couldn't have loved it more. Just the pleasure of seeing him so excited made every penny spent worth it.Made exceptionally well, makes a great gift, and packaged well. Would buy again if I had someone else who loved dinosaurs as much as my nephew.

I am the coolest Aunt ever!
Sent this to my nephew for his 18th birthday. He loved it! This is not for young kids. This maker has several different styles (clock, music box, marble roller coaster...) I can only say at 50, I would love to get one of these kits! Don't know what I would do with it after I put it together but would have fun doing it!

Disappointed
I guess I got a bad batch or something. After spending hours building this with my son, it wont even stand up or walk. It's too top heavy. I even put the provided plastic pieces of paper in each leg to make it tighter (since the wood pieces were pretty crappy) and it did not help. I even tried taking it apart and rebuilding it with no improvement. My son was so excited to get this and is now just so disappointed. Waste of money

Gifted to grandson who liked it, but bit difficult for young children to assemble. Need adult assistance.
