RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Detectors, VITITE RV Carbon Monoxide Detector, Hardwired - VDC 12V RV Propane Gas Detector, Flush & Surface Mount, with 3 Brackets

Easy and reasonably priced replacement for surface or flush mount propane and/or carbon monoxide detectors – my RV had individual detectors for each. Has a quick connector for 12 vdc. Just make sure which wire is + and - because RVs often use different colors than red (+) and black (-). My RV 12 volt feed wires were 12 gauge black (+) and white (-). They had to be reduced to 14 gauge to use the quick connect red (+) and black (-) on the detector, so it would grip and hold the wires properly. The connector can be easily removed from the detector wires though to use crimp connections or wire nuts if you don’t want to mess with that. This is not well documented. However pay attention to the multiple warnings about not getting the + and – polarities reversed to the detector. Best to remove the 12 volt fuse to the detector feed or complete 12 Volt power on the RV to prevent any shorts when installing. I tested it after install and warmup with gas from a small lighter - worked as it should for the LPG detection. Good detector - would recommend.

Great Replacment for my r pod trailer !

Moderately priced this is the unit i chose to replace my old C0/Propane detector in my RV. The old on had run its course and needed to be replaced. The unit installed very easily and I was able to lose the wire nuts and allowed simple connection of the unit to the supply wiring using wago connectors provided by the detector. It comes with three plates to allow different sizes of access holes for installation. I have not tested its ability to detect either CO or Propane gases so I am just trusting that it can do what it proclaims to do. Overall, I am happy with this product and would recommend it to others.

Perfect fit, works like it’s supposed to.

Our propane monitor in the RV died. That's wrong. It was on it's death bed, but yelling loudly! Every time the power was interrupted, its would sound off with a shrill beep until the reset button was pushed. The installation wasn't without some issues. In theory you should be able to connect the wires through the lever nut. Pull up on the lever, insert the wire, press the elver down. Period. Nope, didn't work. It wouldn't hold the wires. We tried stripping more of the insulation without resolve. So we tried clipping the exposed wire, which also didn't work. We couldn't even extract the monitor wires from the side already connected. We had to clip off the lever nut, strip the wires, connect the wires then use electric shrink wrap tubing to insulate. Instructions are provided to test that it is functioning correctly. But, after all of that, it works perfectly. And since this monitors both propane AND CO2, we disconnected the CO2 monitor.

Easy to install instructions were good and seems to have good customer interaction

Good replacement for oem in my '02 Four Winds that decided to alarm constantly when there was no gas hooked up. Apparently, these things have a limited operation life. Who knew?Easy installation, almost identical to the oem.
