I didn’t expect the quality to be that good it is solid. It is longer the others I’ve bought keeping my hands far away from the fire. It is better quality and a lower cost the others.

How many of you have burned or yelled when moving around some hot coals or wood in your pit because you are a little to close to the fire. The ash rake/hoe from Grilliance is great to add to your fire management tools. The rake/hoe is 25 inches in length, so you get to keep your hand/arm away from the hot coals or wood burning. I have been using it for my offset smoker and my other grills to move around some hot charcoal or wood that needs to be adjusted in the firebox. I am already noticing the difference to give me a little more length from the hot fire.The handle feels great in your hand and keeps it cool while poking around those hot fires.

Perfect tool for scraping/cleaning ashes from deeper corners of wood stoves!Made of what appears to be stainless steel tubing, the handle arrives in two pieces that screw together that, once completed, and from a small distance, looks like one piece.The plastic handle isn't permanently attached and can slip or rotate on the steel shaft if forced, but it has not detracted from use or usability. (It has never come off on its own.)The "hoe" shaped head is a solid piece of 1/16" thick stainless steel sheet, solidly crimped to the shaft.I wouldn't go digging in the ground with this thing but for its intended purpose it will likely serve us well.

Just were heat resistant gloves when you use this to move hot coals.

It came out of poor weak quality

My fireplace has a huge ash pit extending down into my basement from the first floor and a handy iron plate that covers the opening below the andirons. I usually wait until the coals are cooled down before they are shoveled into the ash pit. This handy device works well to push or pull the ashes and charred chunks where you want them and is much faster than using a shovel to do the same. I can't comment on using it on hot coals but I don't think it would matter especially if you use it with a good pair of welding gloves to protect your hands.

Strong enough to stick through the grate and lift it up. The handle will sometimes come loose because it’s only threaded together. It does a good job of clearing out the ash that’s left behind. The length of the handle is pretty long but it does a good job.
