This melted right off my wall - too dangerous
At first I thought this was going to work out well although someone who has a pretty good sense of smell could tell there was something being emitted from it. I happened to move it from one outlet (which had other things plugged into it) to another. I came out of the shower to the diffuser part melted, it smelled like burning and it was still smoking when I pulled it off my wall. Why would it work in one outlet and not the other? I wouldn't trust whatever electrical wiring you have in your house to this product. It's clearly only meant for certain voltage settings (of course, no one mentioned that). NOPE.

Did Not Work for Me
We had 6 cats and rescued 3 more - a mother and 2 kittens. Needless to say, the first 6 were none too happy with the new additions. The youngest one took the greatest exception and sprayed the door in the kitchen. Based on the reviews and the vet's recommendations, I purchased the Comfort Zone Calming wall plugs. It did NOT go well. The 'sprayer' got so irritated that she attempted to spay the actual wall plug diffuser. Fortunately, she missed by about 3 inches. I don't know what would have happened had she actually spayed the outlet since 1 of the 2 was empty and urine easily could have been sprayed in. I immediately removed the diffusers since they clearly only made her more irritable. I did more research looking for a calming solution during which I discovered that there is a difference b/t the calming plug and the multi-cat plug, so I decided to give the multi-cat plug a try, thinking that the different pheromone might have a different effect. Boy did it ever, and not in a good way. I plugged it in around 6 pm when I got home from work and woke up at 8 am the next morning to pee everywhere. There's no way that the one who had sprayed previously did it all. I ended up spending most of Saturday tracking down and cleaning up urine. I'm not saying that this doesn't work, or that it won't work for others, but it definitely did not work for me; it made things much worse. Needless to say, both the calming solution and the multi-cat solution went into the garbage.

I believe it helps a little
I am torn, because I can‘t really tell if it helps. We have a very masculine male cat that harasses and attacks our female cat frequently (both are sterilized). The behavior does definitely not stop when using Comfort Zone, but I think it is less extreme. It seems to have more effect on our female cat (she is less defensive) than on the attacking male cat, which is not always helpful. But overall I would say it calms a little. Probably every cat reacts differently to it so I would say it is worth a try if you have stress with your cats. After we tested it while we were present, we now use it mainly when we are on vacation and the cats are alone aside from the sitter visits. It does not have a scent that I can smell, which is good.

Bought and used this by mistake........
8 months ago we bought the new calming diffuser kit which worked fine. We have been using Comfort Zone with Feliway and Feliway for years after our 2 sister cats began fighting. Several months ago there was a lot more hissing and growling but nothing too serious. Last month I got woke up at 3 am to a big fight under my bed, so I had to separate them. After not a lot of progress I took a look at the diffuser and noticed it had the multicat formulation in it. I looked back at my purchase history and found we had bought the Multicat refills by mistake about 7 months straight. I bought a new kit with the calming Feliway and after 2 weeks we no longer need to separate them (unless we leave the house) and they are what I call normal. So for me the Multicat doesnt work at all. I sent back this refill kit and bought the calming version. The company should label it better maybe 2 different colored boxes.

It works!
After adopting an adult cat from the local shelter, tensions with our cats seemed to run high and we turned to both the collars and the diffusers to see if they would help. After the second day of having the diffusers plugged, we began to hear fewer fights around mealtime and saw the new cat start to relax and the other cats not challenge her as much. They've also stopped scratching on the furniture; we'll have to make sure we always have some of the diffuser refills and some extra collars at all times. We placed the diffusers in the rooms the cats are almost always in and that seemed to work the best. Collars went on the cats that were the most nervous or obnoxious around the new one. It's pretty amazing after about a week - our cats are mellow, sweet, and not nearly as upset thanks to the collars and diffusers. Buying more than one at time can usually save you a little money as well.

constant burning smell
There was an insert for this "new" refill version that stated a noticeable odor may be detected. The odor is intentional, meant to indicate to users that the product is functioning as expected. The problem is that the odor, which several have commented on now in both reviews and product questions, is a burning smell and is highly unpleasant to the nose. And if it bothers me, I can only imagine how bad it must smell to my cats. They have enough stressors as it is, necessitating such a multi-cat solution. Time to reformulate again, immediately!

Not the same thing as Feliway?
If you look at the "old version", it is Comfort Zone by Feliway. The new version doesn't seem to be associated with Feliway anymore, which is sold as a different product. I bought this product based on the more familiar packaging style and it didn't seem to work, my male cat has been very aggressive the past few weeks with the female cat. I'm going back to the Feliway product and hope it will calm him down again, because the diffuser has made a difference in his level of aggression over the past year.

Something changed
I've been using this brand for years. The last 2 refills smell like melting plastic in my diffuser. I tried a new diffuser and they still smell like melting plastic. I put a Feliway brand refill in my diffuser and it doesn't have the melting plastic smell. Something must of changed in the plastic refill bottle, they never smelled like this until recently.
