The material in this book is fascinating and hard to put down
Just when I thought I knew it all about this case, author Jack Rosewood covers this horrific story in a well written and informative way. I think I was about 25 years old at the time when Dahmer was arrested. It was worldwide news. The scale of his depravity literally reached the four corners of the globe.I remember watching a movie about him, Jeffrey Dahmer: The Secret Life. The film is a firsthand account of Dahmer's lifestyle as a serial killer. When he was finally caught, it was revealed that his apartment was a chamber of horrors, where, according to the movie, he tortured his young victims to death. Then he sliced up the bodies and stored the parts in his freezer, amongst other places. The Secret Life was produced one year before Dahmer was himself murdered in prison. What really hits home to me about this book is that it reminds me of a guy I grew up and worked with here in Ireland. When the author describes Dahmer in this way: ‘one of the most frightening aspects of Jeffrey Dahmer’s serial killer career was how easy he was able to lure his victims into his trap. Dahmer possessed above average intellect, was conventionally good looking, and usually had a calm demeanor that could disarm even the most paranoid of people. Because of these traits, Dahmer was able to evade justice numerous times, which allowed him to keep killing. Truly, Dahmer was able to fool his family, the police, his neighbors, and even the judicial system into believing that he was not a threat; but during the entire time his kill count increased and the body parts of his victims began to pile up around his apartment.’ With the exception of only a few details, this describes the guy I know down to a tee. What’s even scarier is that after spending 10 years in a prison for the criminally insane, he’s now walking around the neighborhood again!!Anyway, back to the book! This is yet another great read that’s really hard to put down. It's an insightful and graphically detailed account of one of the most horrific serial killers’. In fact, while reading yet another of Jack Rosewoods books, I just had to keep turning the pages yet again. Not necessarily because it's all that enjoyable in any way, shape or form, to delve a little too deeply into the malefic mind of such a murderous man, but because I sincerely believe that most people are fascinated in one way or another by serial killers. Perhaps it’s the human morbid fascination with death. I’m not exactly sure. However, maybe it just astounds the average person as to how depraved another individual can be.Even if you are a seasoned campaigner of true crime, Jeffrey Dahmer: A Terrifying True Story of Rape, Murder & Cannibalism, will surely raise more than a few hairs on the back of your neck. It was a good read and the author gave a perspective to these horrific crimes that was both fascinating and intriguing. This was one of the better true crime books that I have read recently.I would highly recommend this read to all fans of the true crime genre. I’m also a big fan of Jack Rosewood so it’s another 5 Stars from me. Well done again!

An interesting book
I thought this entire book would be about Jeffrey Dahmer. The section that is on Dahmer is well researched and detailed. There are additional sections on other serial killers, some as meticulously done as the one on Dahmer and some more a recital of the various times the individual was arrested or went to a mental hospital and a list of their victims--without as much detail. The book does need proof-reading as there are some typos. However, over-all, this is an interesting book for aficionados of true crime, in particular those that deal with serial killers. I would recommend it.

Hannibal Dahmer
Here is another great book! I just can't believe a person can so these horrific crimes. What I love about the book is that the author brings us to know more about Dahmer than we ever have known. Nowhere were the facts ever printed or released, to my knowledge. I know that the author took a great amount of time to research it as well as it was written. This book seemed different than some of Jack's books. I knew I was reading the same author, but, it felt different. It was a very descriptive book as far as knowing more about Dahmer, than knowing about his brutal acts of crime. Even though, yes, we did know what and how Jeffrey performed these violent acts. We saw the whole picture of Dahmer, that no one has ever presented. I have to say about Dahmer was that he did try to fight his demons with alcohol. At least he tried that much, things didn't turn out the best way as he thought it might. He eventually became an alcoholic, and still had to fight the demons. Alcohol never suppressed it. I felt sorry for him in that sense. He also said at the end, that he couldn't blame his parents for his childhood, That might be a first, to me. I don't know, I thought all or most serial killers put the blame on someone else, especially the parents. Maybe, if the parents were more attentive to him, and not his brother, maybe they could have done something. But, there is no getting away with it, he still was a demented demon. What got me was back in the 80's when he was discharged from the army, he got an Honorable Discharge. Really? He was breaking policy rules and he gets to be honored sort of speak. Terrible, back then, I knew people who did far less and got a dishonorable discharge. Whatever, times were so different then. We know that in so many ways, from DNA, to cops really didn't a damn and let many things slide. That's why we have so many cold cases. But, Dahmer is one for the books. Then to say he turned a new leaf in jail, yes, I agree, that's the crap. Oh, not to mention, the bastard got out with good behavior, seriously, wow. He had gotten a free ticket, this bothered me as much as his discharge. So to say, he was sorry and was going to go to heaven, well God only knows, and he needs all the help he can get, even while he is dead. I don't believe he wanted to die, I think he was waiting for his chance to get out of jail again, and continue his life of crime. He was an unstoppable man, till finally, and I mean finally, he was caught. Here is a man whom I and most people will never forget. Mr. Jack Rosewood did such an amazing job writing about this monster. Then again, Jack is my favorite author and for the most part, my only author I love. Good work and another great book.

Short.
Just note, 169 pages is not enough to fully dive into Dahmer's story. This was written more like a college essay. The words are printed fairly large and double spaced, no true "paragraphs" so to say... Very short and fact based, without being over indulgent. If you just want to quickly read about the "Milwaukee Cannibal" and learn the very basics, this is a good book to start with. If you're looking for something more in depth, I'd look into other publications. My biggest issue is at the the top of one page, the author quotes Jeffrey Dahmer and then mid page repeats the same quote. It's not thoroughly edited or revised... he uses "Jeffrey Dahmer", "Jeffrey", "Dahmer", "the Milwaukee Cannibal" in abundance.

Hastily written
The writing is really, really bad - there are a lot of typos, but also sentence structure, building of paragraphs etc are annoying. It reads like something hastily composed in order to make a fast buck.

Rushed
The book was delivered in perfect conditions. It arrived before the due time. The book per se looks written in a rush, is brief and has several typos. Basically the paper version of any 40 mins documentary. Good for someone who's looking for something not to elaborate about the Milwaukee Monster.
