Just a felt pad
This is just a large felt pad. No grip on either side. Rug slides on the pad, pad slides on the floor. Not ideal.

Great Carpet Pad
This carpet pad has worked out great. It is thick and helps keep the carpet in place. No more sliding or folding over. It was easy to cut the right size with a carpet knife. Does not fray or leave a mess after cutting.
