Love it
It's my new favourite knife!!It's the right size, not too heavy, super sharp. The only thing I'd say, is that the tip is not the pointiest. You can't pierce a bag open. Other than that, it's great!

KEEMAKE Damascus Chef Knife 8 Inch
I was intrigued to use this knife to see what sets it apart from other knives, I have heard of Damascus knives but wasn't really sure of what set them apart.Firstly, the pattern on the knife blade isn't quite as prominent as shown in the photos, there is a nice pattern there but it you can only really notice it at certain angles or lighting. The knife is very comfortable to hold and the handle is beautifully designed, in fact you can really see and feel the effort that has been put in to crafting this knife, I almost wish I actually had space to display it in my kitchen instead of being stored in a drawer! The blade is very, very sharp and makes cutting, chopping, and slicing completely effortless it honestly makes me realise how dull/blunt my current knives must be and how easy I could have had it with food preparation all this time.If I were working in the food preparation industry, then I would definitely want to use only these types of knives, but for day-to-day cooking, I am not sure that I could justify the price. I am not saying that it's not worth its value; it definitely is if you spend hours on end with food preparation, as it makes it all so effortless. So I think it would be worth the price for that kind of regular and involved use.

Top Quality Knife
These knives are seriously impressive. They arrive smartly packaged in a nice box and what is inside is just as impressive. The design makes them look unique and attractive, they are well balanced and easy to use and, super sharp, they make chopping and slicing an absolute breeze.

Precision and Elegance in One Blade
The KEEMAKE Damascus Santoku Knife is a showpiece of craftsmanship and performance. With its 67-layer Japanese Damascus steel blade and VG-10 cutting core, this knife is built for durability, boasting an impressive hardness of 62 HRC. Whether you're slicing, dicing, or chopping, its hand-sharpened 12 to 15-degree edge ensures unparalleled sharpness and precision, cutting through ingredients like butter. Its ergonomic G10 glass fiber handle is a standout feature, offering a comfortable grip that’s both lightweight and wear-resistant. This makes long prep sessions a breeze without hand fatigue. The knife's balance feels impeccable, striking the perfect harmony between weight and control. The hammered finish on the blade not only enhances its aesthetic but also helps reduce food sticking while slicing. After months of use, the blade retains its razor-sharp edge, making it a reliable kitchen companion for both amateur cooks and professional chefs. For anyone looking to elevate their kitchen tools, the KEEMAKE Santoku is a premium choice that delivers on both style and substance.

Incredible!
I absolutely love these knives, they are so different from anything else I've ever used and are absolutely phenomenal. The box they arrive in feels such good quality too and is ideal to store them in when you aren't using the knives to keep them protected. The Damascus design on these really sets them apart aesthetically from other knives I've got, its subtle but looks incredible up close. I'm by no means a chef or an owner of many sets of "good" knives but these feel lovely in the hand and well balanced. They cut brilliantly and make chopping an absolute breeze. They are super strong too.Would 100% recommend

Unconvinced of it's Damascus claims
Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way. Is it a Damascus knife? I do not believe so. Inspecting the knife closely it's quite evident that the Damascus effect is achieved not through layering of steel but through just an acid or laser etch process. Damascus knives are acid etched but this is simply to increase the contrast such that the pattern stands out. I did not conduct the test of polishing a section to remove the pattern and then applying muriatic acid to see if it returns but the poor contrast on the pattern, the uniformity of it and the lack of continuation beyond the blade all point towards a Damascus style product rather than a true Damascus blade. True Damascus knives usually retail for 2x-3x the price so it's no suprise that this knife appears to lack authenticity.Putting that to one side - reviewed simply as a chef knife it's quite good. I've used it for meal prep every day for just over a week on a wide variety of tasks including butchering chickens, taking lamb off the bone, mirepoix preperation and soft veg/fruit prep. I've not honed the knife (i usually do this before each use) and I've used it on wooden and plastic chopping boards. It's held the edge well although there is a noticeable drop off in sharpness.I have a Wusthof and a ProCook that are both currently available cheaper than this knife. This knife is on a par with the ProCook but not as good as the Wusthof. The balance on the knife isn't the best, it's a heavy knife and the centre of gravity is very precise so I do find that it's not as nice to use over a long time prepping hard vegetables. To summarise, it's a capable knife but it's not worth the price that's being charged and I don't believe the Damascus claim.
