The balance in the hand is great, and the temperature v speed is spot-on. Not toooo hot! To say I was chuffed with my hair after my first use is an understatement! It's quicker to dry, but smooth too. I have naturally wavy/curly hair (think Ann Wilson [Heart] in 80s,) that is not that easy to manage. I've taken to wearing straight (think longer Chrissy Hynde) and it was so easy to manage with this dryer, that I am not regretting the extra spend. Believe me, I've had many, many hair dryers over my 55 years and generally prefer cheap, slow travel versions for my curls... I've had high-end salon ones for my straighter days too, but they've been unwieldy and heavy! If this lasts even close to as long as my other wee Remington I'll be a VERY happy customer! However I am pleasantly surprised to find that this one dries my very thick, slow drying hair really quickly leaving it soft and shiny and looking in great condition, I'd say it's given my hair a new lease of life. The difference really is amazing! It's hard to understand how this can be the case but I'm not complaining!It's lightweight and really easy to use as the weight is balanced so well with the motor in the handle. The switches have light up numbers and it lights up inside as well...the build quality seems generally very good and it seems more luxurious than in the pictures. It comes with everything you need and is very nicely presented....it comes in a really nice large zipper case with room for your brushes and other hair essentials, and with two nozzles, a diffuser and a rubbery heat proof mat included (the nozzle does get quite warm). I'm over the moon with it, I hovered over the buy button for a while and waited until after Christmas....well worth it as the price did come down a fair bit. It is worth the full price tbf and I would pay it but I was especially pleased at the sale price. It’s very lightweight & comfortable to hold. I have curly hair so use the diffuser attachment which attaches well & gives a lovely curl. The only downside is it doesn’t have a guard at the back so can suck hair in easily if you dry your hair upside down like me. I have found I get round this by just adjusting how I hold it. It has however terrified my 6 year old curly headed daughter by sucking her hair in & giving her the fright of her life! She says it has a very robust design, a quality feel to it, is very lightweight, easy to use, fits great in her hand and she has no problems using it for the full 10-15 minutes it takes to dry her shoulder length hair from straight out of the shower or bath without any strain on her muscles or joints. The only thing my wife did say was that she wished it had a third heat setting for somewhere between the \"warm\" and \"super hot\".
