Awesome value
At the time of my purchase this is probably the best bang for the buck 3 camera 12β dash cam that I could find. The third camera input is built into the usb power cable for the unit so it requires a 12v socket to use. I would love to be able to purchase a fuse wiring kit in the future but it looks like Iβll have to find a way to convert it in the mean time to save my 12v socket!

My Very First Dash Cam
So I got this to make sure that I am protected in the event of anything happening on the road. I intended to also use a separate OBDII sensor power kit to allow me to potentially capture anything that might happen to my car while parked. Lastly, I was hoping to use this as an expanded rearview mirror, especially since my car has this tint on the back window that makes it virtually impossible to see out of. All of this said, I found this not to work for everything I had hoped, but I'll explain as I go on.I'll start with installation. I honestly thought this was going to be quite difficult to install, but very thrilled to find out that it wasn't. Having never done this before I actually had both the front and rear cameras installed within 45 minutes. I opted to use the installation that puts the rear camera in the rear windshield as I was not trying to figure out how to mount a camera on the outside of my car near the license plate. No thank you. I didn't have any issues with mounting either camera and was surprised at how easy it was for me to run the wires through my car and have them properly hidden away. I have a 2010 Ford Focus and I was able to pull up the weather stripping on the inside with my hands and hide most of the wire underneath with no aesthetic change to my vehicle. The parts near the ceiling I was able to pull the ceiling down and do the same. I'm sure not every car is the same, but I'd wager to guess similar things can be done in most vehicles. I was able to do the same thing with my OBDII kit as well and the extra GPS module. When it comes to the OBDII hardware kit (sold separately) I would say that for most people this will do exactly what I wanted. The only reason it doesn't work for me is my car is old and is very rumbley so no matter what setting I put the G-Sensor to my car was setting it off constantly because it runs so roughly. Nothing I can do, I'm sure if you have a better car that you won't run into the same issue. Lucky for me my hardware OBDII kit had 2 settings, one of which was to turn off the power 20 minutes after the ignition is shut off so I opted for that setting rather than the one that leaves power on until the battery gets below 11.9 volts. I definitely recommend a hardware kit even if you don't plan to use the stays on setting because it frees up your 12 volt connection in your car. Plus, for me, my car doesn't turn off that 12v connection ever which this saves me from having to remember to unplug manually every time I get to a destination. That would inevitably fail and probably leave me with a dead battery randomly so I'm happy to be able to avoid that type of situation. The only downside to the hardware kit installation is that it does not come with the extra connection for the cabin camera. I honestly don't really need this, but if you do you'll have to stick with the 12v cigarette lighter cord unless you can find a hardware kit out there that has the extra input for that camera. I've not really searched, but I know the hardware kit I have and also the one that this company seems to offer for sale both do not have that. Wish they would've just put another port on the mirror if they were planning from the beginning to be a 3 camera system that was no matter which way you power it you're good. Again, though, not an issue for me, but could be for someone else.I would like to note that the manual says to install the GPS module to one of the A pillars which seemed unnecessary to me so I left the cord wrapped up and simply stuck it to the backside of my car's rearview mirror on the opposite side of the camera which has proven to work just fine and I like that it doesn't add another visible thing to my crowded dashboard area. Perhaps there's a reason I shouldn't have done this, but I can say that it doesn't affect the GPS functionality so far. If I'm honest here, the GPS module should've just been built into the mirror. It would've made sense for it to be a module like it is if it was an add-on that you had to purchase separately, but since it comes included I don't get the need for this, but, oh well. Guess it's not the end of the world. Just seems like extra steps for no reason.Once I got everything installed and started using this I was very happy to find that my hopes for having a much better rear view were realized! I've noticed that while driving I'm actually about to see much more than I've ever been able to and this is even more than I had expected! Definitely cannot complain about that at all!The display on this things is better than I expected, I can actually read license plates from cars near me from the front cam which surprised me. I didn't expect that at all considering some of the things I've read about all sorts of different dash cams. The night vision is fine for the front, but the rear cam seems to always be washed out by street and headlights so I don't think that footage will ever prove very useful at night. During the day it's decent, not as good as the front cam, but not completely useless.Switching between the system playback options on the mirror screen works great (swipe left or right and switches between front, rear, and split screen) but going through the settings trying to tap doesn't work the greatest. I often have to tap multiple times on something and also while trying to scroll through the settings it would very often pick an option when I didn't mean to. Thankfully I don't think I'll need to go through the settings very often if ever now that it's setup fully. My other complaint is that this I have to adjust the brightness of the screen myself, it doesn't detect the ambient brightness nor does it judge by the time of day that it receives from the GPS module and make an adjustment to the brightness based on that. Either one of these would be a welcomed addition, but I guess for now I'm not too concerned with it since I wind up turning the screen off while driving as I have to use the screen as my actual rearview mirror which requires it to be off.Overall I'm very happy with this and would recommend it to anyone that dash cam system unless you need all 3 cameras and would like to power by OBDII to have 24/7 monitoring available. If that's the case do some more research or check somewhere else.
