It is simply a necklace made of stainless steel. Even though stainless steel (in this case 316L stainless steel) is more shiny and more durable than silver, it is not precious, thus it is affordable. This is a good thing for buyers. Anyway people do not buy this necklace for it's money value. I gave it to a young lady who just graduated from college. This necklace with the compass makes a meaningful gift to anyone who starts a new journey or keeps going.

I've felt a bit lost in life lately, so the idea and image of a compass has been helping keep my mind focused on a set direction. When I saw this necklace, I had to grab it. The chain was a bit too short for my liking, so I switched this onto a different chain so I could look down and see my compass easily. That was very easy to do and I had no issues removing the pendant itself.The pendant is very nicely made. It has the correct cardinal directions as well. I'll be honest, I was expecting either jibberish letters or wrong directions, but it's a correct N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW clockwise layout.Very pleased!

For one, I received the wrong pendant. I ordered the one with the cut out on the top right, and received the full circle. Quite disappointing.Next, the detail of the pendant is vrather disappointing compared to the photo. The map in the background of the compass is BARELY visible.Overall, it's still a nice pendant. Just disappointed that it's not what I expected it to look like, and I also didn't get the shape I wanted.
