Works well to slice homemade bread loaf!
Perfect to slice our homemade loaf even when still warm! Russell Hobs is the only electric carving knife we have found works really well to slice up home baked loaf!

It's good value for the money.
Works great, nice and easy to set up, use & clean. Only problem is the cable is very short so if you have restricted space, the cable can keep getting in the way when cutting.

An excellent product
We were looking for a replacement electric carving knife for my wife’s 40-year-old Moulinex. After scouring the lights of Selfridges and John Lewis Oxford Street, I couldn’t find a replacement but I saw this one on Amazon. She used it for the first time on Sunday I’m pleased to report it works just as well as her original, the design is good and looking at it it seems to have very similar internals to the Moulinex. We have no hesitation of giving it 5 out of 5 stars, fingers crossed it will last just as long as the original.

Easy to use and great price
Great to use, but no safety which makes it easier for me. As an older person who has trouble with my hands I found it easy to use, my last electric knife I threw out as it hurt to use it with the vibration but would recommend this one and a great price.

Wow, its pretty bad. Buy something else.
Wow its pretty bad. Its incredibly cheaply made, which is fine as it didn't cost a lot. The problem is that mine smelled of burning when used. The blades are blunt, you can safely run your fingers on them and they are pretty much smooth. The serration has no proper edging and as such they struggle to cut. The final problem is the blades both bend AND separate when in use making it a very poor all-round experience.

Not terrible, not great
Never having owned an electric carving knife before I may have had inflated expectations, but this is my experience. I found it reasonably easy to hold and there wasn't a problem with button placement. Blade insertion and removal was easy, and the blades stayed in place during operation. It says the blades are dishwasher safe. Mine are still waiting for me to run a cycle later, so can't comment on that further. My beef with this item, so to speak, is that I found it hard to control. It seems to judder around a lot, which makes it difficult to position the blades on the joint to begin the cut, and to guide it through the meat. Admittedly, I was cutting a small joint, one of those ready-to-roast ones that comes in a foil tray, but I did find it rather difficult. Perhaps it would be easier with a larger joint, and with practice. I found that holding my elbow tight against my body made it slightly easier to control, but felt annoyed that it was necessary. I have to say that the blades don't seem particularly sharp, and it was hard to get through the even slightly harder outer surface of a carefully basted turkey breast joint. An only slightly sharp carving knife would have had no trouble. So the answer to all those questions about what it will and won't cut is really nothing except soft meat. Can't comment on how it would tackle raw as I've only tried to slice it cooked. As for frozen, I would guess you'd have no chance. I hate carving and I'm not particularly good at it, so anything which makes it even a bit easier is a plus, but I'm not that impressed, and it irritates me that it could be so much better. Thinner slices than I can cut myself, yeah a bit, more consistent slices, I would say yes. A faster job overall, definitely. Easy to use? Not really. I wanted to be cooking more roast dinners and not to be put off by job of carving, so this is still an improvement on where I was before. I wanted to be able to say it was a wonderful piece of kit, and has transformed my life, but all I can really say is that it does a better job than I am capable of, which I guess is the point. Overall, it's quicker than using a regular knife, the dinner stays hotter, and I'm probably going to cook more roasts, which is what i wanted to achieve.

The plug is not a regular EU plug. USELESS

The item is useless. I am not able to plug it in. The plug is not a regular plug. It was a waste of 40. It should say in description that it isn't normal plug. Very frustrating.

I was already familiar with the Russel Hobbs brand and have been pleased with the items purchased previously. The company produces quality kitchen equipment sold at an affordable price.
